you may see the message "This printer is not supported by the
currently associated driver. The PC-FAX driver will be used

drivers in the Printers folder will be automatically
removed.
* In as far as is possible, please use the latest version of
software applications which support each of the operating
systems.
* Characters, lines, or photos in color may not appear
correctly in transmitted faxes. Be sure to check the fax in
the preview screen and adjust the density of the color if
needed before sending the fax, or send the fax in black and
white.
* Brightly-colored lines or fine lines may not appear in
transmitted faxes. In this event, use a darker color or a
thicker line.
* When sending a large amount of fax data, an LPT1 error may
occur. In this event, open "Settings" - "Printers" from the
Start menu, and change the timeout setting in the
"Advanced" tab to a longer setting.
* When sending a fax from the PC-FAX driver, a print queue
without a name may appear in the printer status window. This
is normal and does not indicate a problem.
* When sending a fax from Paint or WordPad in Windows NT 4.0,
the image may break apart. In this event, set the PC-FAX
driver as the default printer and then re-open the file and
fax it.
* If a "Collate copies" setting appears in the print dialog box
or the printing settings of an application, do not select
this setting. If this setting is selected, only the first set
of copies will be transmitted; further sets will not be
transmitted.
* If you fax a document that was created on a different
computer, it is possible that the documents uses fonts that

computer. To have the document appear the same, you must
install the fonts that the document uses on your computer.

Sheet screen.
"C:\Documents and Settings\LocalService\Desktop refers to a
location that is unavailable. It could be on a hard drive
on this computer, or on a network. Check to make sure that
the disk is properly inserted, or that you are connected
to the Internet or your network, and then try again. If it
still cannot be located, the information might have been
moved to a different location."
When this occurs, click the "OK" button. A dialog box will
appear to let you select a new folder.
* If you use a TIFF file in the cover sheet editor, select no
compression or "Pack bits". If you use a TIFF file with G4 or
G3 compression, the image will not display correctly.
* When editing a cover sheet in the Cover Sheet Editor, use the
"Save" command to save the cover sheet. If the "Save as"
command is used to change the location of the cover sheet,
the cover sheet may not display or transmit correctly. When
creating a new cover sheet, the "Save as" command can be used
without problem.
* The destination name, fax number, number of pages, and memo
will not appear in the preview screen of the Select Cover
Sheet screen. If you wish to check these items before faxing,
use the preview window in the transmission screen or the
enlarged view (preview) screen.
* Destination names are automatically inserted in cover sheets,
however, honorary titles such as "Mr." or "Ms." are not
included. If you wish a title to appear before the name on
the cover sheet, include the title with the name when storing
or editing the destination name. You can also use the Cover
Sheet Editor to add a text frame containing the title to the
cover sheet.
* The page zoom and rotate commands in the PC-FAX viewer are
only effective in the main screen; they are not effective in
the reduced view (thumbnail) screen.
