INSTALLING AND UNISTALLING THE QUATTRO-PCI IN WINDOWS 2000/XP

INSTALLING
To install the Quattro-PCI card in Windows 2000/XP, you must first remove
all previously installed Lava driver files. They are some or all of:

	c:\winnt\inf\lavaosp.inf
	c:\winnt\inf\oem(x).inf
	c:\winnt\inf\lavaomf.inf
	c:\winnt\inf\lavamf.inf
	c:\winnt\inf\lavasp.inf

Assuming the installation uses the default directories, the files will
be located in the directories above.

UNINSTALLING
To uninstall the Quattro-PCI from its new installation, first uninstall
the Quattro-PCI Ports A,B,C,D. This is done by entering
Device Manager|Ports, highlighting the ports, and selecting Uninstall.

Next, uninstall the parent devices from under Multifunction Adapters.
This is done by entering Device Manager|Multifunction Adapters,
highlighting the parent devices, and selecting Uninstall.

Finally, remove c:\winnt\inf\lavaosp.inf and c:\winnt\inf\oem(x).inf
files along with the c:\winnt\system32\drivers\qserial.sys file.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
