               -----------------------------------------
Driver Installation for Microsoft Windows NT 3.5 or 3.51
        --------------------------------------------------------

  Getting Started
  ---------------
The necessary files for driver installation for Microsoft Windows
NT 3.5 or 3.51 are stored in a self-extracting compressed format.
The FA310TX NDIS driver and the related INF and DLL files need to
be extracted prior to driver installation.

  Installation Procedure
  ----------------------
  1. Copy the compressed file NT3X.EXE from the \WINNT\NT3X directory
of the driver diskette into your hard disk. Execute NT3X.EXE
at MS-DOS prompt to extract the drivers. The Windows NT 3.5 or
NT 3.51 driver and the necessary INF and DLL files are stored
      in the NT35X sub-directory.

Make a note of the target path where the drivers are installed.

  2. The Windows NT CD-ROM or diskettes are needed for the following
      procedure.

  3. Boot up the system with Windows NT 3.5 or NT 3.51 . From the
      "Main" window, select "Control Panel".

  4. In the "Control Panel" window, select the "Network" icon.

  5. In "Network Settings" window, select "Add Adapter". Windows NT
will display a list of all available drivers.

  6. Select "Other" for third-party adapters not included in the list.
The program prompts for the directory containing the Ethernet
      drivers.

  7. Specify the full path of the driver, C:\<PATH>\NT35X.

(eg. C:\<PATH> is the directory where the drivers were previously
       extracted.)

  8. Windows NT will attempt to locate the OEMSETUP.INF file in the
specified path and copy the appropriate drivers into the Windows NT
      system.

  9. Choose the "NETGEAR FA310TX Fast Ethernet PCI Adapter".

  10. The driver is now properly installed. The installation procedure
will then proceed to the next steps. Please refer to your Windows NT
installation guide for information on these steps.

  11. A window will appear allowing you to specify your network connection
      type.

For "Connection Type", choose the "AutoSense" option. The driver will
auto-detect the media that is connecting to the adapter.

Other possible connection type selections are "10Base-T", "10Base-T
      full_duplex", "100Base-TX", and "100Base-TX full_duplex".

  12. After the initial installation, the drivers will be permanently
installed into the Windows NT system. Subsequent accesses to the
network driver list will include these drivers as options.
