USB 2.0 drivers must be installed manually using the Windows Device Manager.  
Follow these steps to install the drivers in Windows XP:  

- Click "Open Device Manager" below and expand the "Other Devices" menu.
- Right click on the "Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller" device with the "yellow bang" and choose "Update Driver."
- Choose "Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)" and click "Next."
- Choose "Don't search.  I will choose the driver to install." and click "Next."
- Scroll down and choose the "Universal Serial Bus Controllers" device category and click "Next."
- Click on the "Have Disk" button and use the "Browse" button to point to the cd-rom drive which contains this disc.  
  Navigate to the "USB 2.0\WinXP" folder and choose the "usb2x.inf" driver file.  Click "OK."
- Click "Yes" if you recieve a Digital Signature warning
- When Windows is finished adding the driver, click on "Install QFE Package" below.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
