Information about the TANDBERG.SYS driver
=========================================

TANDBERG.SYS is a Windows 2000 / XP / 2003 software driver, supporting
the standard SCSI-2 versions of the Tandberg Data tape drives:
SLR2 (TDC 3800), SLR3 (TDC 4100), SLR4 (TDC 4200), SLR4-DC (TDC 4222), SLR5, SLR7, SLR24 (SLR6), SLR32 (MLR1), SLR40, SLR50 (MLR3), SLR60, SLR75, SLR100 and SLR140.

The TANDBERG.SYS replaces the driver named TANDQIC.SYS applicable 
to most of these drives.


Installation of the TANDBERG.SYS driver
=======================================
The installation of the driver is done from an installation
diskette containing the 5 files (assuming the files are copied
to the root directory of a diskette):

  - tdatax86.cat
  - files.txt
  - tape.inf
  - TANDBERG.SYS
  - readme.txt      (this file)


Installation procedure:


 1. Right click on "My Computer".
 2. Select "Manage" and "Device Manager". 
    You should see the tape drive under "Other devices" with a "?",
    or under "Tape devices".
 3. Select the device, right click and select "properties". 
 4. Select the "Driver" folder and "Update Driver".
 5. The "Upgrade Device Driver Wizzard" is now entered.
    Click "Next" and select "Display a list of...." Click "Next".
 6. Click on "Have Disk" when prompted to select a device driver.
    Select the appropriate driver location. (A:\) and click "OK".
 7. Then follow the instructions of the wizzard to complete the installation.



How to get the version information from the driver
==================================================
When installed, follow the three first steps described in the 
installation procedure. Then Select "Driver" and "Driver Details".

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
