Additional instructions for uploading software to GPS25LP series sensor boards.

For best results, Windows should be exited to DOS mode. On laptop PC's, battery
saving timeouts should be disabled to keep the COM ports from shutting down
between uploads performed by the batch file.

Upload instructions:

NOTE: Software is normally uploaded via the sensor board's second serial port.
Units which only have access to the first serial port, or NMEA port, should
refer to the section below, Uploading through the NMEA port.

Following is a diagram for connecting the second serial port of a GPS25LP
based unit to a PC. Refer to the technical specification for your unit to
determine which pin or wire is connected to the corresponding signal below.
Links to the technical specifications are located at the end of this
  document.

      PC
   9 pin Female
   D connector GPS

         | | |

   power supply | |

Setting Vcc to 6 Volts will allow communication with either high or low
  voltage units.

From the DOS prompt, run the update program UPDATESW. The upload process
should complete in approximately 3 minutes.

Uploading through the NMEA port:

Instructions for uploading software to sensor boards with only access to the
  NMEA port (i.e. GPS35PC's).

Following is a diagram for connecting the first serial port of a GPS25LP
based unit to a PC. Refer to the technical specification for your unit to
determine which pin or wire is connected to the corresponding signal below.
Links to the technical specifications are located at the end of this
  document.

From the DOS prompt, run the batch file UPLOAD.BAT with the desired COM port
and NMEA baud rate, i.e. UPLOAD COM1 4800. This batch file will run the
  appropriate executables.

The batch file pauses between uploads to allow exiting the batch file in case
communication problems are encountered. Press <CTRL> C to exit or any other
key to continue. Make certain the uploader program displays ...done before
  continuing.
