GPSMAP 162/168 Software Version 3.60 ------------------------------------------------------------ To view the software version, complete the following steps: 1.Press the MENU key to access the Main Menu. 2.Press the DOWN ARROW key until the System tab is selected. 3.Press the MENU key to access the Option Menu. 4.Select "Software Version". 5.The software version will be displayed on the screen. ------------------------------------------------------------ Warnings: If this software is uploaded to a unit other than the product for which it is designed, you will not be able to operate that unit. If repeated software upload attempts fail, you may need to return the unit to GARMIN for service. ------------------------------------------------------------ Notes: Version 2.00 is the initial release version, and is intended for use on the GPSMAP 162 ONLY. Version 2.10 is the first release for the GPSMAP 168 Sounder. Version 2.12 will change all map configurations back to factory defaults when upgrading from earlier software versions. Version 2.50 will erase all stored supplemental map data when upgrading from earlier software versions. ------------------------------------------------------------ Tide Station Notes: This update no longer allows for permanent retention of tide data when used in conjunction with MapSource products. In order to provide more memory for use of new MapSource BlueChart data, the tide data has been moved to a portion of memory where it may be overwritten. If you are upgrading from version 2.61 or earlier, and have MapSource data loaded in your unit, the detailed maps will be protected, but you will lose your tide data. The tide data can be replaced by downloading the free MapSource US Tides product from GARMIN's website at http://www.garmin.com/products/gpsmap162/download.html. This will allow you to select the location of the tide stations you use in conjunction with your other MapSource maps. Also, the MapSource BlueChart product includes tide station coverage. ------------------------------------------------------------ Change History: Version 3.50 to 3.60: 1.
