Data Encryption*
=======================================================================

The Intel PRO/Wireless 2011 LAN PC Card and Access Point products are
capable of using 40-bit or 128-bit encryption schemes on data going to
and from the PC Card and Access Point. However, by default, data
encryption is turned off. To turn on data encryption, change the
Encryption setting via the adapter properties and the Access Point
Configuration.

To change the encryption for the PC Card select the adapter in the
Control Panel (or Device Manager in Windows 2000). Click Properties,
Advanced, and the Encryption tab. Change the Open setting to the
desired level of encryption.

To change the encryption for the Access Point refer to the Access
Point Product Reference Guide on the Intel CD.

Driver Installation:
=====================================================================
Installing the Driver from the CD:
  Windows (NT4.0 / 98 / 95):
     If you are installing the driver into a WinNT or Win9x based machine,
     point the path for the driver to the ROOT of the CD (ie. if your
     CD-ROM is the D drive, then browse for "d:\"). This installs the
     NDIS4 version of the driver.

  Win 98 / ME:
     If you want to install the NDIS5 version on a Win 98 based machine,
     you must use the path "d:\ndis5"

  Win 2000:
     If you are installing the driver into a Win 2000 based machine, point
     the path for the driver to the ROOT of the CD (ie. if your CD-ROM is
     the D drive, then browse for "d:\").

====================================================================
Firmware Updates:
====================================================================
After updating the firmware (via NICUpdate) to your Intel PRO/Wireless 2011
LAN PC Card, Windows may recognize the card as a new device and automatically
invoke the Add New Hardware wizard. You are prompted to reinstall the adapter
driver and utilities software.

If this occurs, press Cancel to abort the new installation:

  1. Deinstall the current adapter and driver via Windows Device Manager.
  2. Remove the utilities software via the Control Panel-->Add/remove programs.
  3. Restart Windows.
