FishFinder 320C Software Version 2.40

To view the software version, do the following:
1. Press the MENU key.
2. Select the System tab.
3. Select the Software Version button.
4. Press the ENTER key.

Warnings:
If this software is uploaded to a unit other than the product for
which it is designed, you will not be able to operate that unit.
If repeated software upload attempts fail, you may need to return
the unit to GARMIN for service.

Notes:
Version 2.00 is the initial release version.
Any units with pre-release alpha or beta software will have
all nonvolatile memory erased when version 2.00 or later is
loaded.

Change History:
Version 2.30 to 2.40:
1. A "Configure Advanced Numbers" button was added to main menu page to allow
easier access to Advanced Numbers page.
2. Automatically generated waypoint names are now prefixed with an
S (e.g., S001) to avoid conflicts with automatically generated waypoint
names in GPS/Chartplotter products.
3. Corrected possible situation where some sonar adjustment menu
pages were not sized wide enough.

Version 2.20 to 2.30:
1. Allow the unit to reacquire the bottom faster when moving quickly over
large changes in bottom depth greater than 200ft (60m).
2. Corrected some of the translations.
3. When configuring the advanced data fields, made handling of the Quit key

1. Implemented foreign language translations for user
interface changes in previous version of software.

Version 2.00 to 2.10:
1. Moved the "Custom" range option to the bottom of the
Range adjustment list.
2. Improved the appearance and interface of the Temp tab:
a. Removed "Water Temperature Log" title from top of page.
b. Renamed "Temperature Scale" to "Log and Graph Scale".
c. Renamed "Time Duration" to "Log Duration".
d. Now displays a "Temperature Log" title above the
temperature log field.
e. Moved the "Reset Auto Scale" button to be inset within
the "Temperature Log and Graph Scale" box. Renamed
that button to "Reset".
3. Added control to select between True and Magnetic north
reference to the Units tab.
4. Moved the "Reset Odometer" button to the System Tab.
5. Now allow a press of the Menu button to close the Main
Menu page.
6. Renamed the "Set Up" tab to "Sonar".
7. The frequency enunciator now displays "Paused" when the
scrolling sonar image is paused.
8. Corrected some foreign language translations for the
cardinal directions on the compass tape.
9. Changed software version number to 2.10.

Upload Instructions:
Instructions for uploading the new software to your FishFinder using Microsoft
Windows 95/98/NT:
1. Download the appropriate self-extracting archive file onto your hard drive.
2. Unzip the files in the archive by running the downloaded executable file.
3. Connect your unit to a free serial port (Com 1, 2, 3, or 4) on your PC with
a PC interface cable.
4. Turn on your unit and ensure NMEA Input/Output is set to "OFF". You can find
this setting in the Setup menu on the "System" tab.
5. Change to the directory in which you unzipped the files, (i.e., C:\GARMIN),
and run the update program, updater.exe. Select the appropriate serial
port and click "OK" to begin the software upload.
During the upload, the display will indicate "Software Loading...."
The upload process should take 2-5 minutes to complete. When the upload
is completed, the unit will reset itself and turn on normally.

Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
