FishFinder 250  Software Version 2.30

To view the software version, do the following: 

1. Hold the ADJ/MENU key.
2. Select the System tab.
3. Select the Software Version button.
4. Press the ENTER key.

Warnings:

If this software is uploaded to a unit other than the product for
which it is designed, you will not be able to operate that unit.

If repeated software upload attempts fail, you may need to return
the unit to GARMIN for service.

Notes:

Version 2.10 is the initial release version.

Any units with pre-release alpha or beta software will have
all nonvolatile memory erased when version 2.10 or later is 
loaded.

Upload Instructions:

Instructions for uploading the new software to your FishFinder using Microsoft
Windows 95/98/NT:

1.  Download the appropriate self-extracting archive file onto your hard drive.

2.  Unzip the files in the archive by running the downloaded executable file.

3.  Connect your unit to a free serial port (Com 1, 2, 3, or 4) on your PC with
    a PC interface cable.

4.  Turn on your unit and ensure NMEA Input/Output is set to "OFF". You can find 
    this setting in the Setup menu on the "System" tab.

5.  Change to the directory in which you unzipped the files, (i.e., C:\GARMIN),
    and run the update program, updater.exe.  Select the appropriate serial
    port and click "OK" to begin the software upload.
    
    During the upload, the display will indicate "Software Loading...."
    The upload process should take 2-5 minutes to complete. When the upload
    is completed, the unit will reset itself and turn on normally.

1.  Added Greek language translations.

2.  Improved the pause/resume highlight interface on the sonar adjustments page.

3.  Changed sonar target color range to all black to maximize target visibility.
    Grays are evenly distributed through the background color range.

4.  The contrast adjustment bitmap was changed to use white, dark gray, & black
    colors to match previous products.
