slot (master PCI slot only). Power on the system again after the
   hardware installation completed.

2. Go to the "Control Panel " and select "SCSI Adapter".

3. Choose the "Drivers" tab and select the "Add..." button.

4. Select the "Have Disk..." button.

Install the Driver During the Windows NT 4.0 Installatation
-----------------------------------------------------------

* Using PCI-DA2100/DA2200 BIOS version 1.17B or newer BIOS, the
controller will detect if the CD disc in the CD-ROM drive is
a bootable CD when the system powered on.

* Windows NT 4.0 WorkStation and Server (including Enterprise Edition)
all support CD-ROM boot for Windows NT installation. If the Windows NT
4.0 CD is loaded in the CD-ROM drive, the system will boot from the
CD-ROM drive and enter the Windows NT installation automatically. To
avoid the system boot from CD-ROM, simply remove the bootable CD disc
from the CD-ROM drive when power on the system.

Install the Driver During Windows NT 4.0 CD-ROM Boot Installation
-----------------------------------------------------------------

1. Insert the Windows NT 4.0 CD disc into the CD-ROM drive. The CD-ROM
drive should be connecting to an adapter which supports CD-ROM boot.
If using IDE CD-ROM, the system BIOS should support CD-ROM boot. If
using SCSI CD-ROM, connect the CD-ROM drive to a SCSI adapter supports
CD-ROM boot (PCI-DA2100/DA2200 or other SCSI adapters support CD-ROM
   boot).

   * If the SCSI CD-ROM drive is connecting to PCI-DA2200 PCI
RAID controller (Ultra2 wide SCSI), please refer to the PCI-DA2200
Manual for details of mixng Single-ended and LVD
devices on the same SCSI bus.

2. Reboot the system. When the system starts to boot from CD-ROM, press
and hold <F6> key on the keyboard until the "Windows NT Setup" screen
appears. This setup screen is different than boot up without pressing
<F6> key. When it appears "Setup will load support for the following
mass storage device(s):...", press <S> to choose "Specify Addtional
   Device".

3. A list of SCSI adapters appears on screen. Choose "Other" from the list.

4. When setup program prompts:

PCI-DA2000 Series RAID Miniport for NT v3.51
PCI-DA2000 Series RAID Miniport for Alpha NT v4.0

Choose "PCI-2000 Series RAID Miniport for NT v4.0" from the
   list, and press <ENTER>.

6. "Setup will load support for the following mass storage device(s):..."
appears on the screen again, with "PCI-DA2000 Series RAID

** Important **

A. ALWAYS CHANGE THE CACHE TO WRITE-BACK DISABLED BEFORE INSTALLING
   OPERATING SYSTEMS AND PARTITIONING.

PCI-DA2100/DA2200 is a high performance PCI RAID controller
with Write-Back cache enabled. During the installation of
some operating systems, the installation program might reset
the computer automatically while the cache still contains
data not yet written to the drives. It might cause the
installation or partitioning failure. To avoid the failure,
always switch the cache mode to Write-Back DISABLED (Write-
Through mode) before changing the drive partition (e.g. using
DOS FDISK) and before installing any operating systems.

B. HOW TO CHANGE CACHE MODE TO WRITE-BACK DISABLED?

Using BIOS Text RAID Manager (PC platform only) to disable
the Write-Back Cache. Power on the computer, press <CTRL><I>
when the PCI-DA2100/DA2200 information appears. Choose "Configure
RAID" from the menu and press <Enter> to enter a proper
display mode (either ANSI, VT-100 or ANSI Color). In the
Main Menu, choose "View and Edit Configuration Parameters",
then "Caching Parameters". A sub-menu contains "Write Back
Cache Enabled/Disabled" which refers to the Write Back mode
is Enabled or Disabled. Press <ENTER> on it and choose "Yes"
to change it. After the cache mode changed, it is a must to
reset the computer to take affect the new setting.
After the driver partitioning and operating system installed,
using the same procedure to enable the Write Back cache, the
high performance Write Back Caching will bring your system
	into a higher performance level.
