5. Supplement and Troubleshooting Guide

5-1. Error Message

    modify the CONFIG.SYS.

    ERROR MESSAGE:
   *********************************************************************
   * The device driver KME8OS2.SYS specified in the BASEDEV= statement *
   * on line xx of the CONFIG.SYS file was not installed. Line xx *
   * is ignored.                                                       *
   *********************************************************************

    Possible Cause:
      The KME8OS2.SYS couldn't start, because the PCMCIA device driver
      did not load.

    Solution:
      * If the PCMCIA is not installed, install it.

      * Check the CONFIG.SYS to make sure that the KME8OS2.SYS is located
        after the PCMCIA.SYS and the IBM2SS01.SYS. If not, please edit.

        Sample of CONFIG.SYS File
