Pocket Printer A6 Printer Driver Installation Manual for Windows95/98/Me Copyright c 2000 by SiPix Group Ltd. This Readme file provides the information of Roamate 6 printer driver to install onto PC for Windows95/98/Me. Please read it thoroughly before using your Pocket Printer A6. 1. Introduction 1.1 System Requirements This printer driver is compatible with IBM-PC compatible computer running either Microsoft (R) Windows(R)95 U.S. or Windows(R)98 U.S. *1) And Your computer must have an infrared communication facility available for IrDA1.0 *2) or 115.2k serial communication port. 1.2 Software Requirements For installation of this printer driver, Windows95/98/Me system disk or CD-ROM is needed. If your computer is a Windows95/98/Me preinstalled model, you can use the back up copy at HDD. To adapt IrDA infrared communication, IrDA Infrared Communication port driver needs to be installed beforehand. (We recommend Microsoft Infrared Communication Device Driver). If your computer is equipped with Windows98 and available for IrDA, infrared port driver has been already installed. For the detail of Windows95/98/Me system disk or obtaining and installing of the infrared driver, contact with technical support of your computer. *1) Microsoft and Windows are registered trademarks of Microsoft Corporation. *2) IrDA is the standard of Infrared Data Association. 2. Installing the Printer Driver 2.1 To install the printer driver, Windows95/98/Me system disk or CD-ROM is required. If your computer is a Windows95/98/Me preinstalled model, you can use the back up copy at computer HDD. 2.2 Select "Settings" then "Printers" from the "Start button". 2.3 Double-click "Add Printer". 2.4 After the Add Printer Wizard dialog is open, click "Next". 2.5 Select "Local Printer", then click "Next". 2.6 Insert the printer driver disk into the drive and click "Have Disk". When the disk drive after inserting the disk is shown on the monitor, click "OK". If the drive name shown on the dialog box is different from the one where the driver disk is inserted, change the drive name to the appropriate one. Otherwise open Browse to choose "POCKETA6.INF" from the driver disk and click "OK". 2.7 Make sure "Pocket Printer A6" is displayed in the Printers box and then click "Next". [When adapting IrDA] 2.8 Choose "Infrared Serial (COM) Communication Port" *3) . You can either change the name of the printer or leave it as it is shown in the Wizard. After that click "Finish". [When using serial cable] 2.8 Choose "COM X" *4) (115.2K Support). You can either change the name of the printer or leave it as it is shown in the Wizard. then click "Finish". 2.9 When Windows95/98/Me asks you the place of the file described in 2.1, Specify the proper drive. If you use the back up copy at HDD in the Windows95/98/Me preinstalled computer, click OK in the Insert Windows95/98/Me CD-ROM dialog and then choose the proper directory (folder) followed as: [C:\Windows\options\cabs]. Note-1 When using a serial cable, following settings are needed in 2.8; Baudrate : 115200 bps Data Bit : 8 bit Stop Bit : 1 bit Parity : None Flow Control : Hardware *3) Note that Infrared Serial (COM) Communication Port is different from Infrared Printer Port. *4) COM X is the port number you use. 3. Settings of the printer driver 3.1 Standard Settings This printer driver has the standard settings as below: Paper Size : A4 Paper Direction : Portrait Paper Source : Manual feed Graphics : Fine Device Option : 50% Reduction To print A4 size documents, no change of the settings is needed. 3.2 Document Size and Device Options When printing an A4 size document on A6 paper, set "Image control" as "50% Reduction" in "Device Options", the document will be reduced 50% to fit A6 paper. If you set it as "100%", letters or pictures outside of the printable area will not be printed. When printing an A6 size document on A6 paper, set "Image control" as "100%", the document will be printed on A6 paper. When printing an A6 size document on A6 roll paper, set "Image control" as "100%", the document will be printed on A6 roll paper. When you define the size of the document, set "Image control" as "100%". However if it is wider than the printable range of the printer, exceeded part will not be printed.Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
