 II. Upgrading existing installations
--------------------------------------
In most cases, you can upgrade any existing OR Client PC Driver
installations or standard 802.11 Avaya Wireless PC Card drivers from
Lucent Technologies or Agere Systems as follows:
   1. Make sure your Avaya Wireless PC Card is currently plugged in to
      your computer
   2. In Windows, click on 'Start' -> 'Settings' -> 'Control Panel'
   3. In the Control Panel, open the 'System' control panel applet
   4. Click on the 'Device Manager' tab
   5. Under 'Network Adapters', select
'WaveLAN/IEEE PC Card' or 'Avaya Wireless PC Card'
   6. Click on the 'Properties' button
   7. When the Properties dialog is displayed, click on the
      'Driver' tab
   8. Click on the 'Update Driver' button
   9. When prompted, select the option to
'Display a list of the known drivers for this device...'
      and click the 'Next' button
  10. When the next dialog appears, click on the 'Have Disk...'
      button
  11. Enter the full path to the location of the driver files
you have extracted. Make sure you specify the path to the
correct Operating System directory, for example:
          ... \Drivers\Windows 98-ME
  12. Follow the on-screen instructions
  13. If you are asked to select a radio after selecting
the .INF file, the following three options will be
      available to you:
		-- Avaya Wireless Integrated Card
-- Avaya Wireless PC Card (5 Volt)
-- Avaya Wireless Mini PCI Card

Most customers have 5 volt Avaya Wireless PC Card hardware,
so select "Avaya Wireless PC Card (5 Volt)", unless you have
    an embedded Avaya Wireless radio.

If the above steps do not work, you will need to uninstall your
existing driver by searching for and removing the following files:

        WILUC48.DLL
        WLLUC.CNT
        WNLUC.HLP
        WNLUC48.CPL
        WLLUC48.INF
        WLLUC48.SYS
        WULUC48.VXD
        WCLUC48.EXE

Then restart your computer and follow the steps
described in

III. Troubleshooting Tips
--------------------------------------
  * When installing the driver into a Windows desktop PC
using an ISA- or PCI-to-PCMCIA adapter, you MUST
correctly install the adapter card BEFORE attempting
to install the OR Client PC Driver. Failure to
correctly install the adapter card before installing
the OR Client PC Driver will cause the OR Client PC
Driver to be installed incorrectly, causing
    unpredictable results.

    Observed symptoms include:
    - Not recognizing the Avaya Wireless PC Card when it is inserted
      into the PCMCIA slot.
    - Automatically detecting the Avaya Wireless PC Card when it
is inserted, and allowing you to install the driver,
but the driver does not load correctly when the
      card is inserted.
    - Windows Device Manager reporting that 'The device is
disabled, not installed correctly, or is not plugged in'.
    - On Windows 2000, driver may appear to install correctly.
The Client Manager may report a normal connection when in
IEEE 802.11 client mode, but always report 'No COR
Station in Range' when in Outdoor Router Client mode. In both cases,
the Windows networking cable connection indicator ALWAYS
      reports 'Network Cable Unplugged'.
