1.  When you enter Windows 2000 first time, the Found New Hardware
    Wizard will start and installs the driver that ships with
    Windows 2000.

2.  When the installation is complete, insert ASUS Support CD
    that shipped with ASUS motherboard.

3.  Right-click on the My Computer icon, and then click 
    Properties.

4.  Select the Hardware tab.

5.  Click Device Manager.

6.  Double-click Network Adapters.

7.  Right-click on the name of the 3Com NIC, and then select
    Properties.

8.  Select the Driver tab.

9.  Click Update Driver.
    The Update Device Driver Wizard starts.

10. Click Next.

11. Select Search for a suitable driver for my device 
    (recommended), and then click Next.

12. Enable the "Specify a location" check box; type or browse 
    the path {CD-ROM Drive}:\Drivers\Lan\3COM to the driver and 
    then click Next. The Wizard searches for the driver files.

13. Click Next.
    Files are copied and the driver is updated.

14. Click Finish.

15. Restart the PC.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
