Manually install the C-Media audio driver from the CD-ROM in Window 2000 platform

1. Right-click "My Computer" Icon from desktop. Select "Property" item while the pop-up menu appears.

   or you can press "Start" button. Move highlight bar to "Settings" and select "Control Panel".
   Double click on "System" icon.

2. Select "Hardware" page and then click [Device Manager] button.

3. View device by type and find "Other devices" node.
   
4. Right Click the "Multimedia Audio Controller" node.

5. Select "Properties" item while the pop-up menu appears.

6. Select [Driver] page and then press "Update Driver..." button.

7. Press Next.

8. Choose "Search for a suitable driver for my device(recommended)" and then press Next.

9. Choose "Specify a location" check box and then press Next.

10. Type or browse the path {CD-ROM driver}:\Audio\C-Media\W2K\drv to the driver.

11. Press Next while the Window NT found the proper driver for this device.

12. Press Yes.

13. Press Finish to complete the installation.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
