SATA EXTERNAL BOOT FEATURE

Windows 2000/XP/2003 OS installation on a SATA hard drive 
connected to the LaCie SATA Host adapter:

1. Format a floppy disk and copy the files from the folder 
"External Boot Feature" located inside the Drivers folder 
of the CD-ROM.	     

2. Put the disk into drive A and turn on your computer.

3. Choose the CD-ROM installation and as soon as you have 
the blue screen with the following comments; "Setup is 
inspecting your computer's hardware configuration." You 
have two seconds to press 'F6' key to enter the DRIVER 
INSTALL SCREEN.

4. Select "Lacie Power SATA" and press enter. It will 
load the LaCie Power host adapter drivers.

5. When installing the Windows Operating System, you 
should be able to choose the external solution volume.

6. Then choose SCSI device boot first in your mother's 
board BIOS.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
