README.TXT Driver File Contents (62412-51.exe)

The files included with RASINF.EXE are:

README.TXT     This file
MODEM.INF      WFW 3.11 and Windows NT 3.5 MODEM.INF file modified 3/14/97
	       to include Modem/VoiceSURFR 56K.

These files contain the latest Motorola ISG product definitions. 

Upgrading WFW 3.11 MODEM.INF:
===========================
1.  Before upgrading your MODEM.INF file make a backup copy of your original 
MODEM.INF file.  

Example:

C:\>CD\WINDOWS\SYSTEM

C:\>COPY MODEM.INF    MODEM.ORG

(where "path" is the directory the WINNT.INF file is located.

2. For WFW 3.11 the MODEM.INF file is contained in the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM 
directory. Copy the MODEM.INF file into this directory.  

Example:

COPY <path>\MODEM.INF     MODEM.INF

Upgrading Windows NT 3.5 MODEM.INF:
================================

1.  Before upgrading your MODEM.INF file make a backup copy of your original 
MODEM.INF file.  

Example:

C:\>CD\WINNT35\SYSTEM32\RAS

C:\>COPY MODEM.INF  MODEM.ORG

(where "path" is the directory the WINNT.INF file is located.

2. For Windows NT the MODEM.INF file is contained in the 
C:\WINNT35\SYSTEM32\RAS directory. Copy the WINNT.INF file into this 
directory.  

Example:

COPY <path>\MODEM.INF  MODEM.INF


Upon successful copying of the INF file it will be necessary to 
reinstall the Remote Access Service (RAS) modems for the new INF file 
to take effect.
