This file is the readme for software Release 1.7.7 for
the Avaya 4690 IP Conference Telephone. This release letter describes
the generally available release.

There are two files that apply to the Avaya 4690 IP Telephone:

4690_010707.bin - The 4690SW R1.7.7 application. Please note that the boot
application is included in this single binary file.
46xxupgrade.scr - The script the IP Telephones will download.

FEATURES in R1.7.7:

This is the generally available release for the 4690 IP telephone. All features
are described in the 4690 IP Conference Phone User Guide.

KNOWN ISSUES IN R1.7.7:

·	If the MCIPADD is set to 0.0.0.0, the phone does not reboot automatically. In
this case, the phone will display a discovering message and the phone can be
rebooted by pressing the '#' key.

·	MCIPADD and TFTPSRVR addresses can only be set by IP address. DNS names are
	currently not accepted

·	Dial tone can appear to be choppy when playing at times.

·	The 4690 IP currently does not support DHCP option 66 to supply the TFTP server
	address.

·	Silence suppression is not enabled for this release when using the G.729 codec.

R1.7.7 NOTE:

·	Phone restarts if the extension is changed. This is normal behaviour for the 4690 IP.

UPGRADING a 4690 IP Telephone from a previous release:

·	The upgrade script will upgrade your 4690 IP Telephone
	to the R1.7.7 application load.
