This file is the readme for Avaya software Release 2.2
for the Avaya 4610SW, 4620SW and 4621SW type SIP IP Telephones. This release
letter describes the major features and known issues with this release
of SIP software, R2.2.

There are a number of files that apply to the Avaya 4610SW, 4620SW and 4621SW IP Telephones.
The actual files required to upgrade depends on which version is used.

For single-byte software to support English and Western European fonts on all sets:
s20d01b2_2.bin - The 4620SW/4621SW English/European language SIP R2.2 application.
b20d01b2_2_3.bin - The 4620SW/4621SW boot application.
s10d01b2_2.bin - The 4610SW English/European language SIP R2.2 application.
b10d01b2_2_3.bin - The 4610SW boot application.
46xxupgrade.scr - The script the IP Telephones will download.

Note: This 46xxupgrade.scr file applies to the Avaya 4601, 4602,
	4602SW, 4606, 4612, 4620, 4622SW, 4624 , 4625SW
and 4690 IP Telephones, both SIP and H.323, where appropriate.

MAJOR FEATURES IN SIP R2.2
Note: This is the first release of a SIP SW application for
	the 4610SW, 4620SW and 4621SW HW Platforms.

·	Support of the following features
		- Call Hold
		- 3-way Conference
		- Consultation Hold
		- Music On Hold (requires an Avaya Communications Manager Music on Hold feature)
		- Unattended and Attended Transfer
		- Distinctive Ringing
		- Unconditional/Busy/No Answer Call Forwarding (requires settings file administration)
		- Find-Me(requires prior server administration)
		- Call Management - Incoming and Outgoing Call Screening (requires prior server administration)
·	Support of a WML-based Web browser application, similar to that in the
	H.323 R2.2 release for the 4610SW, 4620SW and 4621SW.
·	Support of Speed Dial, Call Log and Options applications, similar to
	those in the H.323 R2.2 release for the 4610SW, 4620SW and 4621SW.
.	Support of the G.711 and G.729B codecs only are supported in this release.
.	Centralized RTCP monitoring (RTCPMON)

PRE-REQUIREMENTS FOR USING THE SIP R2.2 APPLICATION

.	The IP phone must first upgrade to the H.323 R2.2, or greater, version
of software. Refer to the 46xx Installation Guide for further upgrade instructions.
.	The appropriate versions of Communications Manager and the SIP Enablement
Services (SES) proxy server must be installed.

KNOWN ISSUES IN SIP R2.2

.	Quality of Service (QoS) parameters for L2 and L3 signaling have not
	been enabled in this release.
.	If the phone is power cycled, the user may occasionally need to re-enter
the login data to complete the registration process.
.	When configuring the phone on Communications Manager, at least three call
appearances should be configured for all Communications Manager extensions
on the station form and the off-PBX telephone station-mapping form. This
configuration will elimiate issues with slow disconnects from transfer
	and conference operations.
.	When entering a URI, as a new speed dial entry, only lower case characters
are supported. A workaround for this is to dial the URI and then store it in
the Speed Dial from the Call Log entry.
.	Button click volume may not change with alerter volume changes.
.	In rare instances, the alerting volume may fluctuate from the
	configured setting.
.	If a "*" or "#" is required for a dial string, it must be entered with a
SIP domain using the URI dialing mode.
.	Calls placed between two 46xx SIP phones with shuffling turned on, may
disconnect when the CM ip-codec form is configured for 729B followed by
	711mu coding.
.	If a "Web:301 Moved Permanently" message is displayed, pressing the
phone exit button will return the phone to normal operation.
