Ricoh Digital Camera TWAIN Driver for Windows Manual (Ver. 1.0.3)

This TWAIN driver allows applications that support Window 95, Windows 
3.1, or Windows NT to acquire images directly from a Ricoh digital 
camera and save them in DSC or JPEG format.

* This TWAIN driver can be used with the following Ricoh digital cameras:
  RDC-1,RDC-2,RDC-2E, and RDC-300.

* System requirements:
  Windows 95, Windows 3.1, Windows NT 4.0 (or later).

* Software supported
  Adobe Photoshop 4.0
  (Supported software is not a guarantee of operability.)

<Installation>
Run the Setup.exe file.
If installing the driver on Windows 95, select whether your 
application is a 32-bit version or a 16-bit version.
If installing the driver on Windows 3.1, the 16-bit version is 
installed automatically.

<Selecting the TWAIN source from your application>
If you are using a 32-bit application, select RICOH DIGITAL CAMERA
WIN32 and click the Select button.

<Start TWAIN from your application>
The RICOH Digital Camera TWAIN panel appears.

<Importing images directly from your camera>
Set each of the following items in the OPTIONS panel.
Select your camera in the CAMERA panel. (RDC-1, RDC-2 etc.)
Select the port to which your camera is connected in the PORT
dialog box. (COM1, COM2 etc.)
Set the connection speed in the SPEED dialog box. (115200 bps etc.)

note:Make sure that your camera is turned on and set to playback mode.

<Importing selected images>
Next, open the CAMERA panel.
Click the CAMERA button to open the connection to your camera.
If your camera has both internal memory and card memory, select either
MEMORY for the camera's internal memory, or CARD for the camera's CARD 
storage memory. Use the <- and -> buttons to make your selection, 
then press the SELECT button and the OK button to begin importing the image.

<Importing images from a hard disk, floppy disk, or PC card>
Press the FILE button to display the thumbnails window. Select the 
drive and directory, then select J61 or JPG for the filename to view 
the thumbnail images.
To import an image, select its thumbnail image then click OK. The image
is imported into, and displayed in, your application.

note:If several images are selected, some applications will not transfer
     image data after the first image has been imported.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
