Introduction ============ This document presents information to users about National Semiconductor's DP83820 Gigabit Ethernet adapter and the relevant NDIS5 software driver, dp83820.sys version 5.0.2.32 for MS Windows ME operating system. Installation and Configuration ============================== The following subsections describe the procedure for installing the driver for Windows ME. Windows ME Driver Installation ------------------------------ Follow this sequence for installation under Windows ME. 1.Restart the computer. 2.During the boot process, a window will appear entitled "Add New Hardware Wizard," saying that it will complete the installation of the PCI Ethernet Controller. Insert the driver floppy , then press "Next". 3.Click the default "Automatic search for a better driver(Recommended)" and click "Next". 4.In the next window,select "Specify a location" and specify the setup file pathname A:\WINME. 5.Windows ME will open properties dialog box to select and click ok. 6.Click "Finish" and then restart the system.Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
