 FOR A WORKSTATION
 -----------------

 DOS ODI LAN DRIVER INSTALLATION

To install the FE-1000TX DOS ODI LAN driver on workstations in the
NetWare client environment, the following steps should be performed:

      (a) Assume that you have installed NetWare for DOS workstation by using
          NetWare client installation program.
A directory is created for the DOS workstation files according to the
target directory specified during installation and ensure that the
workstation files are copied to this specified directory.(Default
          is C:\NWCLIENT.)
      (b) Copy the file FE1000T.COM under this \NETWARE\CLIENT subdirectory
to the specified directory in (1). (Default is C:\NWCLIENT)
      (c) Create or modify DOS and NetWare configuration files.
The previous version of CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT are
automatically saved as CONFIG.BNW and AUTOEXEC.BNW. If no previous
versions existed, new files are created for you.

          For CONFIG.SYS :
Add the line "LASTDRIVE=Z" to your workstation's CONFIG.SYS file.

          For AUTOEXEC.BAT :
The line "@CALL drive:\target_directory\STARTNET" and "SET NWLANGUAGE
=language" are added to your workstation's AUTOEXEC.BAT file.

The installation program creates a file called STARTNET.BAT in the
target directory you specified. It contains the following commands:

                         @echo off
                         drive:
                         cd \target directory
                         LSL
                         FE1000T
                         IPXODI
                         VLM
                         cd \

The installation program creates a new NET.CFG file to set a
configuration for the network board installed in your workstation.
e.g., it contains the following settings:

                         Link Driver FE1000T
                                 PORT 300
                                 INT 3
                                 frame ethernet_802.2
                                 MEDIA_TYPE AUTO

                         NetWare DOS Requester
                                 FIRST NETWORK DRIVE = F
                                 NETWARE PROTOCOL = NDS BIND
                                 LARGE INTERNET PACKETS = ON
                         ; MESSAGE LEVEL = 3

Be sure to indent the second line and place a carriage return
          after the second line.

         NOTE:
If you wish to use the 802.3 frame type (default is 802.2),you
would replace <FRAME name> with the following line in your
workstation NET.CFG file to match the server's frame type:

                            FRAME ETHERNET_802.3

      (d) Log in to the network with the AUTOEXEC.BAT file.

** NOTE : Please refer to the NetWare Client relevant workstations manual
for more DOS ODI workstations information.
