Novell NetWare ODI Driver Installation
======================================

  Follow the steps outlined below to create a driver diskette for use with
  Novell Advanced NetWare.
  This file  contains information about using the FCARDBUS.COM Novell DOS ODI
  client driver with your CardBus Ethernet adapter.

  Preparation
  ===========
  Before you start with the workstation installation process make sure you
  have the following items on hand:

     1) 100BASE-FX PC card
     2) Driver diskette
     3) Novell WSGEN diskette.

  Create a BOOT diskette (this diskette may be self-booting , or it may be
  a DOS-formatted blank diskette).

NOVELL NetWare installation
===========================

1. Create a directory and copy the following files to it:
        
        a.  CBEN.EXE     -- PCI CardBus Enabler.
        
        a.  PBEN.COM     -- PCI BIOS Enhancer.

        a.  LSL.COM      -- Supplied by Novell in the WSGEN diskette.

        b.  FCARDBUS.COM   -- Netware DOS ODI Driver in the \NWCLIENT directory
                            of the adapter diskette.
        c.  IPXODI.COM   -- supplied by Novell in the WSGEN diskette.

        d.  NETX.EXE     -- supplied by Novell in the WSGEN diskette.

        e.  NET.CFG      -- Optional  configuration file  supplied  by the
                            subdirectory of the CardBus adapter diskette.


   The LSL.COM, FCARDBUS.COM, IPXODI.COM, NETX.EXE and NET.CFG files can be
   found on this installation disk.The other files are included with your
   Novell workstation software.

2. Edit the NET.CFG file and check that the network protocol type settings
   are suitable for  your network, and change any settings as necessary.

3. To connect to a server, execute the following commands:

        CBEN /md000 /i11
        PBEN
        LSL
        FCARDBUS
        IPXODI
        NETX
        F:
        LOGIN {User Name}

     You may wish to write all commands into a batch file and  execute the
     batch file for convience.


Note :  NET.CFG
================
     The NET.CFG file is used to provide the software configuration to the
     ODI driver on the NetWare workstation. Typically, all of the required
     operating parameters will have been preset by CardBus Ethernet adapter 
     matched with file setting.

     You  can edit  the NET.CFG file  that is on the current  directory in
     order to change, add or delete any desired options by way of a plain-
     ASCII text editor(DOS 5.0's EDIT and EDLIN commands are good examples
     of plain-ASCII text editors).


IMPORTANT: There can only be ONE file named NET.CFG in the same floppy disk 
           or pathed directory.  If the driver finds more than one NET.CFG 
           file, it will become confused and may not work reliably.  
           MAKE SURE THERE IS ONLY *ONE* NET.CFG!

FRAME  : Indicates the link-level frame type.

   Note:  The default frame type is Ethernet_802.3
          for Netware 3.X.
          The default frame type is Ethernet_802.2
          for Netware 4.0.

  Example for NET.CFG
  ===================
     Following is an example fragment from a NET.CFG file.  This  fragment
     lists the FCARDBUS options described above.  If this is the first time
     you will be creating a NET.CFG file , note  the layout of the NET.CFG
     fragment below. Spacing in the layout of the NET.CFG is important for
     reliable operation of the adapter and network connection.

        Link Driver FCARDBUS
  	MEDIUM  100FULL  ;operate on 100M/Fullduplex mode
	Frame Ethernet_802.2
	Frame Ethernet_802.3

        The line "Link Driver FCARDBUS" must not be indented at all.


Closing Notes

    1) Appendix "E"  of the Novell NetWare 386 Installation Guide provides
       more information about the usage of NET.CFG files.

    2) Before you running any ODI drivers, you have to enable the PC Card
       by running CBEN.EXE and PBEN.COM

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

• Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

• If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

• Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

• Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

• Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

• From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

• Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
