		Driver Installation Guide for Windows 2000
	     ================================================

Introduction
============
    This document describes the procedure to install NDIS 5.0 driver on
    Windows 2000 for AEF-360TX Family PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter.

    Location of Driver: \WIN2000\RTL8139.SYS


Installation procedure
======================
    Before you start with the installation process,  make sure that your
    AEF-360TX adapter should be properly installed in your PCI bus slot.
    Executing Windows 2000,it will auto-detect your system configuration
    and find the adapter hardware. Windows 2000 will install the default
    RTL8139 driver automatically.

    Note: If Windows 2000 does not prompt that it detects a PCI Ethernet
    adapter,there must be something wrong with RTL8139 PCI Fast Ethernet
    adapter or your system environment.

    If you want to install the driver frome the driver diskette.
    The procedure are as follows:

    1. Click the "Control Panel" icon from My Computer window.

    2. Click the "System" icon from my Control Panel.

    3. Open "Hardware" -> "Device Manager" -> click "Network Adapter"
       twice and select your NIC card "RTL8139 PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter"
       click it twice.

    4. The NIC property dialog box appear then press "Driver" ->
       "Update Driver" -> "Next".

    5. Select "Search for a suitable driver for my device(recommended)"
       then press "Next" button.

    6. Select "Specify a location" then press "Next" button ,Insert the
       driver diskette into your floppy drive, and specify the path of
       the driver in the diskette(i.e. A:\WIN2000) to copy the driver
       files to your system.

    7. Select "Install one of the other drivers" then press "Next" button.

    8. Select "AEF-360TX Family PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter." which location
       is "A:\Win2000\netrts5.inf", then press "Next" button.

    9. When system ask you "Do you want to continue the installation",
       click "Yes" .

   10. If system ask you "Overwrite the newer file", click "Yes".

   11. Click "Finish" to complete driver update frome the driver diskette.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
