Remote Boot (RPL) for Windows NT ====================================== Introduction ============ This document describes the procedure to use the Remote Boot-ROM (RPL) for AEF-360TX Family PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter in Windows NT Server. Installation Procedure ====================== 1. Installing the Remoteboot Service on the Server. a. Choose Control Panel, Network, Add Software, Remoteboot Service, put NTAS CD or disk they will be installed Remoteboot Service. Note: To install RPL server before, you must be had installed DLC and NetBEUI protocol in your NTAS. 2. Sharing RPLFILES files and to install MS-DOS Files for Remoteboot workstation. a. Sharing \\systemroot\rpl\rpl\rplfiles to V:\\RPLFILES ;use File manager sharing b. Copy all the MS-DOS 6.22 ver files to ----> \\systemroot\RPL\RPLFILES\BINFILES\DOS622 copy c:\dos\*.* V:\BINFILES\DOS622 attrib -s -h c:\io.sys attrib -s -h c:\msdos.sys copy c:\io.sys V:\BINFILES\DOS622 copy c:\msdos.sys V:\BINFILES\DOS622 attrib +s +h c:\io.sys attrib +s +h c:\msdos.sys 3. Creating Remoteboot configuration for new adapter a. copy the MS-DOS device driver (NDIS2) for the AEF-360TX adapter to the \\systemroot\RPL\BBLOCK\NDIS directory (RTSND.DOS NDIS2 driver) b. Create this directory \\systemroot\RPL\BBLOCK\NETBEUI\RTL8139 and copy RTL8139.CNF, protocol.ini files c. use RPLCMD utility to add a bblock record for new adapter. d. In MS-DOS Prompt type <1> NET START RemoteBoot <2> RPLCMD e. Screen will display under line option and you following these do it. Shutdown Windows NTAS server, and reboot it. 4. Login Administrator to NTAS server. 5. Starting Remoteboot service and Remoteboot manager a. In MS-DOS Prompt type " NET START Remoteboot " b. In Network administrator, Remoteboot Manager <1> Choose Remoteboot, New Profile, created a RTL8139 Profile Name <2> Add new workstation for RTL8139 adapter and choose RTL8139 Profile file. 6. To config RTL8139 card "Node ID (525439******)" and Running BootROM of RTL8139 Card . Note: If the new workstation Node ID is not match for yours, you can use "Convert Adapters" in Remoteboot option.Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
