2) Press the PRINT button.
The firmware version number will be shown as the Printer Software Version.
Procedure:
1) Connect the 8500 printer to the computer via the USB connection and turn
on the printer.
2) Launch the firmware downloader utility by double-clicking on the file
named FwDLEK85.exe.
3) After successfully launching the downloader utility, click on the DownLoad
button in the "Software Upgrade Application for 8500" screen.
4) You will see a progress indicator labeled "Initializing..." appear. When
that indicator completes, another one labeled "Loading the main firmware..."
will appear followed by "Loading the table data...". When that completes,
a "Get Checksum" indicator will appear.
5) When the progress indicators have completed, you should see a dialog box
appear stating "Success! This F/W was downloaded properly on printer"
Click on the OK button to dismiss the dialog box.
6) Exit the dowloader utility by clicking on the X in the upper right corner
of the window. Your printer's firmware has been successfully updated.
