- Profile selection list of taskbaricon menu.
When a "empty" profile is created in the Add/Edit profile
dialog the current profile was not indicated correctly.
- "sticking" modem speed in status screen.
After changing from a Residential gateway profile with modem
connection active, the modem speed text was not removed from
the status screen.
- Missing station name(s) in linktest selection screen when in
peer to peer mode.
- After uninstall some files would stay behind (modem.txt,
aplist.txt and .gid file)
3.5 Version 1.58 Winter 2001
The following functionality has been added:
- Starting the Client Manager while it is already active
(but as icon on the system tray only) will bring up the Client
Manager status screen.
- The Client Manager grays out the Link Test function if the
station is connected to a non-Lucent AP that does not support
the LinkTest protocol.
- The Client Manager provides functions to Disable and Enable
the Card's Radio. This is intended for use with the Embedded
Card (miniPCI), to be able to switch off the radio for
instance before entering an aircraft, but also works on the
PC Card. This status is preserved over a system reboot /
power off-on cycle.
- The Client Manager shows different icons for the access point
in the Status screen, depending on the type of access point:
a Lucent AP, RG, or other (unknown) access point.
The following problems have been solved:
- Changing the configuration profile using the combo box.
In previuos versions this did not always produce the wanted
result.
- Update of the Access Point name.
After a configuration profile change or going out of range
of the AP and coming back into range the Access Point name
was not always updated.
- Modem Tray Icon (only when connected to an RG-1000).
In some cases (e.g. during transmission of a large file)
the icon would show an error for the RG's phone connection
while the connection was still functioning correctly.
- RG Modem menu item (only when connected to an RG-1000).
Sometimes this menu item would disappear after going to
Add/Edit Configuration profile and then cancel the editting.
- Log directory
Default log directory has been changed to a subdirectory
("log") of the directory where the Client Manager is
installed.
- Encryption warning after card removal.
After a card removal an encryption warning was displayed.
- Client Manager un-install did not remove shortcut.
- Client Manager installation sometimes incorrectly displayed
a message that the Driver is not yet installed.
- Under Windows 2000 the Client Manager icon was transparent
if the user was not logged in with Administrator rights.
- The Client Manager no longer gives a blinking icon warning
(that the encryption key may be wrong) if the station is
connected to a non-Lucent AP. Now there will be a warning
given on the Card Diagnostics screen only.
3.6 Version 1.18 June 2000
This is the first version of the Client Manager.
It replaces the previous WaveMANAGER/CLIENT and the
Comms Quality Indicator (CQI). Compared to those, following
has been changed:
The user interface has been improved. WaveMANAGER/CLIENT
and CQI have been integrated.
New, clearer, icons are used to indicate the
communications quality.
In case the station is connected to an RG, also status
information about the RG's dial-up connection is given.
New icon menu item:
Change configuration profile (immediately).
In case the station is connected to an RG, a function
is added to establish or disconnect the RG's dial-up
connection.
Function screens have been reworded and rearranged.

-------------------------------------------------------------------
5. TECHNICAL CONSTRAINTS
None.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
6. KNOWN ISSUES
6.1 Disable and Enable the Card's Radio when using Whistler OS
The card enable/disable status is NOT preserved over a system
reboot / power off-on cycle.
6.2 Site Monitor Function may hang with Peer-to-Peer Workgroup.
When the card has Station Functions firmware v.6.04, the Site
Monitor function of the Client Manager will (sooner or later)
hang when the station is in Peer-to-Peer Group mode.
The fewer stations participate in the same Peer-to-Peer Group,
the higher the chance this problem occurs. When this problem
occurs, normal data communication may be hampered as well.
Using the Station Functions firmware v.6.06 or higher, prevents
this problem.
6.3 Site Monitor Limitations with Peer-to-Peer Workgroups.
With Station Functions firmware v.6.04 or v.6.06 on the Card,
the Site Monitor function of the Client Manager does not show
Peer-to-Peer Groups when the station is connected to an access
point or RG based network.
It also does not show other networks (neither infrastructure
nor Peer-to-Peer Groups) when the station is operating in
a Peer-to-Peer Group.
A future version of the Station Functions firmware will address
this issue.
