HOW TO USE THIS DOCUMENT

To view the Readme file on-screen in Windows Notepad, maximize the Notepad window. Select Word Wrap on the Edit or Format menu, depending on the operating system version.

To print the Readme file, open it in Notepad or another word processor, make sure Word Wrap is not selected, and then use the Print command on the File menu.

1.1  It is strongly recommended that you always run the MX240a program from the same Windows 2000 or XP user name login.  This is because the configuration data used by MX240a (such as registered handsets, alert settings, etc) is stored on a per user basis. 

If you choose to run MX240a from different logins, you will have to register the handheld and make configuration changes independently for each user name.

We recommend that you always run the MX240a application from the same login that it was installed from. Note that under Windows 2000 and XP only some user types are able to install new software.

2.2 In order to resolve issues with USB on Windows 2000, you must install SP 1 or later for MX240a to properly operate.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
