README File Product Information for ST7 Software Library Version 5.1 January, 2000 **** C development environnement files ***** -*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*- DISCLAIMER *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*- THE SOFTWARE INCLUDED IN THIS LIBRARY IS FOR GUIDANCE ONLY. STMicroelectronics SHALL NOT BE HELD LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES WITH RESPECT TO ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM USE OF THIS SOFTWARE. -*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*- This document contains release notes for V5.0 of the STMICROELECTRONICS ST7 Software Library. This library contains software examples about how to use the ST7 peripherals and development environment in assembly and C languages. The development environment files contain the mapping for the dedicated ST7 hardware registers for all the general pupose devices. ==========================< IMPORTANT REQUIREMENT >============================ ST7 Tools and debugger on PC requires a minimum configuration: - PC 386 (387 not required) or higher - a minimum of 4 Megabytes of system memory - Microsoft Windows 95 operating in enhanced mode or higher. The hardware tools are not required for using the library, you can use WGDB7 as a simulator. But for a better development you can use the following Hardware tools: - the development Kit (or emu low cost). - the ST7 emulator - the EPROM Programming Board or Gang Programmer. The software tools installation procedure should start with: - the ST7 software tools - the ST7 windows debugger - the ST7 HDS configuration files (configure WGDB7 when it is used with the emulator) - the Windows EPROMER . These tools are free software and are located on the ST7 CDROM or on ST MCU dedicated web site ( http://mcu.st.com ). Then, in case of a development in C language you need to use the C Tool Chain provided by Hiware (demo version in the STMCU cdrom) or the Hiware web site. ================================< CONTENTS >================================= This ST7 Software Library can be downloaded from the ST MCU dedicated web site ( http://mcu.st.com ). Download the 'zip' file and run the setup.exe files to install the different parts you need. This library can install the following subdirectories: LIBRARY | |-----C <DIR> | | | |--C_TIPS.TXT | |--ENVIRO <DIR> | | | | | |----ST72101 <DIR> | | |----ST72104 <DIR> | | |----ST72121 <DIR> | | |----ST72171 <DIR> | | |----ST72212 <DIR> | | |----ST72213 <DIR> | | |----ST72215 <DIR> | | |----ST72216 <DIR> | | |----ST72251 <DIR> | | |----ST72254 <DIR> | | |----ST72311 <DIR> | | |----ST72331 <DIR> | | WARNING: Only source files and configuration files are located in these directories. If you want to compile, link and format the different examples, you have to install the ST7 Hiware C tool chain and check your configuration files according to your installation as specified in the C_TIPS.TXT file. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
