  4) Providing a setup.exe file to install/uninstall the demo
  5) Providing a developer package to customers

How to install and use:

Under W98-WME:
--------------
1) Install scard.exe. Reboot as requested
2) Install update_smclib.exe. Reboot as requested
3) Plug the device. Please note this demo works with ST SCR demoboard:
    VID 0x0483 and PID 0x2105	
4) Install the driver by browsing under the correct location
5) Reboot (PCSC layer is NOT plug and play under W98, WME. So each time a PCSC compliant driver
   is installed, the PC needs to be rebooted...)
6) You can use a PCSC application
7) You can use the demonstration application

Under W2000-XP:
---------------
1) Double click the file update_w2000_xp_reg.reg to activate the Smart Card support. Reboot.
2) Plug the device. Please note this demo works with ST SCR demoboard:
    VID 0x0483 and PID 0x2105	
3) Install the driver by browsing under the correct location
4) You can use a PCSC application
5) You can use the demonstration application

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
