1.   OTC4OD - Four of Diamonds Enabler

     OTC4OD is an MS-DOS enabler that will configure and enable the Trumpcard
Four of Diamonds prior to the loading of the 32-Bit ODI Driver. It will only
work on Intel or compatible controller chips.

1.1   OTC4OD Command Line Switches

OTC4OD [/CIS=nn] [/SKT=n] [/CDT] [/LAN=nnn(nn)] [/?]

        /CIS=nn Forces the memory window for the CIS segement to nn
        /SKT=n Try to enable the card in socket n
        /CDT    Enable for 10BASE2 media
        /LAN=nnn(n) Configure the Ethernet I/O and IRQ.
        /?      Displays this message

1.2   OTC4OD Usage

     The Four of Diamonds enabler will attempt to scan the slots present in
the notebook automatically to search for a Four of Diamonds Trumpcard. The
/SKT keyword can be used to override this behaviour by forcing OTC4OD to only
examine the specified socket. However, this enabler will not provide
hot-swap capability.

     The enabler will open a memory window to examine the CIS of the PCCards
that it finds in the notebook. By default this window is opened in the C800
memory segment. The enabler will attempt to find a free memory window unless
one is specified using the /CIS keyword.

     By default the enabler will enable the Ethernet adapter to use 10BASE-T
media type unless the /CDT keyword is used. However, the network driver may
override this later.

     The enabler will use a default I/O address of 300h and IRQ of 5 unless
the /LAN keyword is used to change these settings. The I/O address range
used by the Four of Diamonds is 16 ports (i.e. 0x300h - 0x30f).

An example of the usage of the OTC4OD enabler:

   1) Force the CIS segment to D000-D0FF and enable the Ethernet adapter
       for 0x320-0x32F,IRQ10

OTC4OD /LAN=320(10) /CIS=D0

  ==========================================================================

2.   OTCETH.LAN - 32-Bit ODI Configurable Options

2.1   I/O Base

     May be set by including the following in the command line:

Port = xxx        ;where xxx can be one of 100, 140, 180, 1C0, 200,
                  ;  240, 280, 300, 340

Be sure the Trumpcard is enabled to the same I/O address, otherwise the
driver will not find the board and the following error message will appear:

        Hardware Error - OTCETH Bank Select port failed to respond.

2.2   Interrupt Number

     May be set by including the following in the command line:

Int = x                 ;where x can be 2, 3, 5, A, B
                        ;C or F

"Int" defaults to the value used by the OTC4OD configuration if not present.

2.3   Node Address

     Each Trumpcard has a unique IEEE address. However, it may be overridden
by including the following in the command line:

Node = xxxxxxxxxxxx

Where xxxxxxxxxxxx is a 12 digit hex Number (non multicast or broadcast)
"Node" defaults to the Trumpcard's IEEE address if not present.

2.4   Frame Type

     May be set by including the following in the command line:

Frame = <type>

where <type> is ETHERNET_802.3, ETHERNET_802.2, ETHERNET_II, ETHERNET_SNAP.
"Frame" defaults to ETHERNET_802.3 if not present.

2.5   Media Type Selection

     The user may select the media type with which the SCEC will work. This
option is specified via parameter passing in the command line. The keyword
is "MEDIA_TYPE=" . The value following the keyword must be one of the
following:

"AUTO"     for automatic selection.
"10BASET"  for 10BaseT (twisted-pair).
"AUI"      for 10Base2 (thin coax).

If the MEDIA_TYPE keyword is not present, the driver will use the automatic
selection of the media.

3.   NetWare Server 4.x Installation

     Use the install.nlm utility provided with the NetWare 4.x server to
install the 32-Bit ODI driver. When you configure the network you will be
presented with a list of additional drivers. Use the <INS> key to select an
unlisted driver. Place this diskette in the floppy drive and the installation
software will automatically locate the 32-Bit Trumpcard ODI drivers. Choose
the Four of Diamonds if more than one option exists and continue with the
installation.

     In order to configure the driver properly you must be familiar with the
resources that are available on the computer, especially free IRQs.
Configure the driver as required and note the IRQ selected. The final step
in configuring the 32-Bit ODI driver is to configure the OTC4OD enabler. The
settings noted when configuring the driver will now have to be configured for
the enabler. The enabler can be invoked in the AUTOEXEC.BAT file prior to
starting up the NetWare server. Copy OTC4OD.COM from this diskette to the
server hard drive and edit the AUTOEXEC.BAT file manually.

    NOTE: The setting used for the OTC4OD enabler and the OTCETH.LAN driver
           must be the same otherwise the driver will not be able to access
           the adapter.

3.1   AUTOEXEC.BAT Example

    This file is manually created as part of the NetWare Server installation.
The enabler was manually copied to the NWSERVER directory.

  \nwserver\otc40d /lan=300(11) /cis=c8
  \nwserver\server

3.2   AUTOEXEC.NCF Example

     This file is created with the install.nlm utility loaded from the server
console, "load install".

  file server name CALVIN
  ipx internal net 10
  load c:\otceth PORT=300 INT=B MEDIA_TYPE=10BASET
  bind ipx to otceth net=1111
  mount all

  ==========================================================================

4.   DOS/Windows Client 32 Installation

     Currently the 32-Bit ODI driver does not support PCMCIA Card Services.
The OTC4OD PCMCIA enabler must be used to enable the Four of Diamonds.

     NetWare Client 32 may be installed from DOS or Windows.

     From DOS, NOT a DOS prompt from within Windows, execute A:\INSTALL from
the "NetWare Client32 for DOS/Windows 3.1x Disk 1 - DOS".  The install
program will prompt you for diskettes to complete the installation.

     From Windows, use the program manager to run A:\SETUP from "NetWare
Client32 for DOS/Windows 3.1x Disk 1 - Windows".  The setup program will
prompt you for diskettes to complete the installation.

4.1 Specifying the Ositech 32-Bit ODI Driver

     As part of the installation process you will be prompted to select a
network driver.

     For the DOS installation, choose "OTHER DRIVER" from the list provided.
When prompted for the driver diskette and path, insert this diskette and
enter A:\NETWARE\NWSERVER.

     For the Windows installation select "User Supplied Driver", when
prompted for the driver diskette and path, insert this diskette and enter
A:\NETWARE\NWSERVER\OTCETH.LAN.

You will then have the option to configure the following settings:

    Base I/O port
    Frame select
    Hardware interrupt
    Max transmits
    Media type selection
    Node Address

     To complete the installation the OTC4OD enabler must be manually copied
to the hard drive and the AUTOEXEC.BAT file updated to run the enabler. The
OTC4OD enabler must be run before the 32-Bit ODI driver.

4.2   AUTOEXEC.BAT Example

   c:\novell\client32\otc40d /lan=300(5) /cis=c8
   @CALL C:\NOVELL\CLIENT32\STARTNET

   STARTNET.BAT will include:

        SET NWLANGUAGE=ENGLISH
        C:\NOVELL\CLIENT32\NOIS.EXE
        C:\NOVELL\CLIENT32\LSL32.NLM
        C:\NOVELL\CLIENT32\CMSM.NLM
        C:\NOVELL\CLIENT32\ETHERSM.NLM
        C:\NOVELL\CLIENT32\OTCETH.LAN PORT=300 FRAME=Ethernet_802.2 INT=5
        C:\NOVELL\CLIENT32\IPX.NLM
        C:\NOVELL\CLIENT32\CLIENT32.NLM

  ==========================================================================

5.   Windows 95 Client 32 Installation

     Currently the 32-Bit ODI driver does not support Windows 95 PCMCIA
Plug-and-Play and the OTC4OD PCMCIA enabler must be used to enable the Four
of Diamonds.

     The first step is to install the NetWare Client 32. Run A:\SETUP from
the "NetWare Client 32 for Windows 95 Disk 1 - Setup" diskette and follow
all of the instructions. Do NOT reboot at the end of the NetWare Client 32
installation. Instead, choose the "customize" button.

     The next step is to add the 32-Bit ODI driver by adding a new hardware
adapter in the "Control Panel", "Network" utility and select "Have Disk".
Insert this diskette when prompted and enter A:\NETWARE\NWSERVER. Select
the "Four of Diamonds" and select OK. This will result in the installation
of the 32-Bit ODI driver. You will require the NetWare Client 32 disks and
the Windows 95 disks to complete this process.

     The next step is to configure the 32-Bit ODI driver in the Network -
Configuration Window. Highlight the "Four of Diamonds Ethernet" and select
"Properties". Configure the ODI driver for "32 Bit ODI Driver" and set the
Resources for an IRQ and I/O address range that do not conflict with other
Windows 95 resources. Take note of the IRQ and I/O address range selected.
Select all other configurations as required for your environment. If unsure,
consult you network administrator.

     The final installation step is to disable PCMCIA support in Windows 95
when using the 32-Bit ODI driver. This can be for all hardware
configurations or for a specific configurations depending on your
requirements. Use the "Control Panel", "System", "Device Manager" utility.
Under PCMCIA Socket, select the PCIC or Compatible driver and change the
properties to PREVENT loading this driver in the configurations using the
32-Bit ODI driver. It is possible to set up a multi-boot configuration
through the CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT which allows multiple hardware
profiles and PCMCIA support under a specific startup sequence.

     To complete the installation the OTC4OD enabler must be manually copied
to the hard drive and the AUTOEXEC.BAT file updated to run the enabler. The
OTC4OD enabler must be run before the 32-Bit ODI driver is loaded in Windows
95.

5.1   Multi-Boot Example

     It is possible to disable PCMCIA support in Windows 95 when using the
32-Bit ODI driver a multi-boot configuration. The following description
assumes that you are familiar with DOS and Windows 95 multiple boot (hardware
profiles). To do this, follow these instructions:

   1) First create a hardware profile under Windows 95 to be used only when
       using the 32-Bit ODI driver (eg. Client32 ODI).

   2) Next disable Windows 95 PCMCIA support in this hardware profile.

   3) Edit CONFIG.SYS to add a [menu] option with corresponding entries
       identifying the Windows 95 hardware profiles.

   4) Edit AUTOEXEC.BAT to run OTC4OD in only the required menu option.

5.1.1   Example of CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT

     Assume that two hardware profiles exist in Windows 95; "Undocked" and
"Client32 ODI".

5.1.2   CONFIG.SYS Example

  ;
  ; Multi-Boot CONFIG.SYS
  ;
  [menu]
  menuitem = Undocked,  Undocked
  menuitem = no_pcmcia, Client32 ODI

  [undocked]
  [no_pcmcia]

5.1.3   AUTOEXEC.BAT Example
