Installation Instructions 2.1 DOS NOTE: This version of the Four of Diamonds Trumpcard software does NOT include an automated DOS installation program. The ODI driver can be installed through Windows by choosing the "Novell NetWare" network option (as opposed to the "Windows for Workgroups ODI Driver" option). A DOS based installation will be available in the near future. Ositech Communications apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause. For installation under DOS using the ODI network driver, Ositech supplies the required version of the NetWare Link Support Layer driver, LSL.com. Earlier versions will not work with the Trumpcard ODI driver. Ositech also supplies the Workstation Connection driver NETX.exe. The automated installation program installs the high performance Virtual Loadable Module driver, VLM.exe, which offers better performance than the NETX.exe driver. Please see your network administrator for more details on manual installation under DOS. ========================================================================== 2.2 Windows 3.x / Windows for Workgroups 3.1x For Windows 3.x or Windows for Workgroups 3.1x users, we supply an OEMSETUP.inf file that should work for a manual installation. If you perform the automated installation, the Trumpcard configuration program modifies this file with the choices that you select. Please run "a:\SETUP.exe" from this disk for the automated installation. ========================================================================== 2.3 Windows 95 For Windows 95 users, we ask that you PLEASE perform the automated installation of all files. An incorrect manual installation could cause unpredictable/unreliable results. Please run "a:\SETUP.exe" for the automated installation. ========================================================================== 2.4 Windows NT Running "a:\SETUP.exe" installs the "Four of Diamonds Ethernet Help File" and a readme file for Windows NT. For Windows NT, the driver installation MUST be performed through the Control Panel-Network (Add Adapter). When prompted for the driver diskette, point the location to A:\WINNT after inserting the "Network Drivers Diskette". ========================================================================== 2.5 Other Operating Systems Using NDIS 2.01 Drivers For other operating systems using NDIS v2.01 drivers, you must go through the proper installation and configuration so that the protocol.ini "stubs" can be properly modified. ========================================================================== 3. Installing the Packet Driver (OTCPKT.com) The Trumpcard is now shipping with a packet driver. The complete, manual installation instructions can be found in the README.txt file, located in the \PACKET directory. If you use the automated installation (RECOMMENDED), it will ensure that the changes required in your CONFIG.sys and AUTOEXEC.bat files are made correctly. ========================================================================== 4. Using the Trumpcard with a NetWare Server Your Trumpcard comes with drivers to allow you to use your computer as a Novell NetWare server. There is no automated installation for this option, so detailed instructions are provide in the \NETWARE\NWSERVER directory in the file called INSTALL.txt. All the drivers and enablers that are required for full functionality can also be found in the above named directory. ========================================================================== 5.
