Description of Files See the file, DISKINFO.TXT, in the root directory of the "Four of Diamonds Trumpcard Installation For DOS / Win 3.x / 95 / NT, Diagnostics and Utilities Diskette" for a complete listing and file-by-file description of all files on all software diskettes for the Four of Diamonds Trumpcard. ========================================================================== 2. Updated Installation Instructions For the DOS / Win 3.x / 95 operating systems the root directory of this diskette contains all the necessary files for installing 16-Bit ODI, NDIS2 and NDIS3. It is recommended to use the installation/configuration program provided to setup this diskette for the proper settings (IO port, IRQ, etc..) based on the network operating desired. If manually installing a network driver without assistance from the installation/configuration software, follow the instructions detailed in the "Ositech Trumpcard Ethernet User's Guide". 2.1 DOS 16-Bit ODI Driver For installation under DOS using the 16-Bit ODI network driver, Ositech supplies the required version of the NetWare Link Support Layer driver, LSL.com. LSL versions prior to 2.11 will not work with the Trumpcard 16-Bit ODI driver. Ositech also supplies the Workstation Connection driver NETX.exe. The automated installation program installs the Virtual Loadable Module driver, VLM.exe, which offers better performance than the NETX.exe driver. Please see your network administrator for more details on manual installation under DOS. Windows for Workgroups users PLEASE NOTE: The ODI driver supplied (v4.06) requires a special switch in the NET.cfg file (usually located in your NetWare Client directory): the switch is "ERX 0". This switch should be placed in the "Link Driver OTCETH" section and MUST be indented AT LEAST 1 (one) space in. Your NET.cfg should look like the following: Link Driver OTCETH ERX 0 {any other parameters} {any other sections} This switch will prevent Windows for Workgroups from "hanging" when using the Ositech ODI driver. 2.2 Windows 95 You install the Four of Diamonds software you must run the SETUP.exe program found on the "Four of Diamonds Trumpcard Installation For Win 3.x / 95 / NT, Diagnostics and Utilities Diskette". You must run this before inserting the Trumpcard into your computer. 2.3 Packet Driver (OTCPKT.com) A Packet Driver has been provided for the Four of Diamonds. The complete manual installation instructions can be found in the README.txt file, located in the \PACKET directory. If you use the automated installation (recommended) it will ensure that any changes required in your CONFIG.sys or AUTOEXEC.bat files are made correctly. 2.4 NetWare 32-Bit ODI Server/Client Driver The Four of Diamonds comes with 32-Bit ODI drivers to allow you to use your computer as a Novell NetWare Server or to use Novell's newest CLIENT32 software for DOS or Windows 95. Detailed instructions are provide in the \NETWARE\NWSERVER directory in the file called INSTALL.txt. All the drivers and enablers that are required for full functionality can also be found in the above named directory. ========================================================================== 5.
