Description of Driver Installation Files

of the ConnectCom web site (http://www.connectcom.net).
Readme.txt This installation instruction file

w9xasc.mpd AdvanSys Fast/Ultra Narrow SCSI Adapter Win95/98/Me driver
w9xasc.cat This is either the actual Digital Signature File,
or when the Digital Signature File is not yet
available, a place holder file. (Not essential for
driver installation.)
Creating the "Windows 95/98/Me AdvanSys Driver" Diskette
========================================================
NOTE: You can skip this step if you have the AdvanSys release
diskette. It is already set-up as a driver diskette to allow you
to install the AdvanSys driver using it.
To create a driver diskette for installing the AdvanSys Driver
to a new or existing Windows 95/98/Me system, copy all of the
Windows 95/98/Me release files (w9xasc.inf, w9xasc.mpd, w9xasc.cat)
to the top directory of a DOS formatted floppy diskette. Label the
diskette "Windows 95/98/Me AdvanSys Driver" and also record the driver
version number for future references.
The Windows 95/98/Me help system or manual contains instructions for
upgrading drivers and for installing new devices using files from
a driver diskette.
NOTE: If a driver setup program is provided to help install the drivers,
then all you need to do is to run the program. You should run the
program before physically installing the adapter card into the
computer. This ensures a successful installation.
If you installed the adapter card, but have not run the
setup program, there are two possible outcomes...
1) The card may be detected as an unknown device. Run the
setup program to correct this.
2) The card may be detected correctly -- Windows has
existing drivers that are compatible with the card.
In this case, the card will work. You may still
run the setup program to ensure that the latest
driver files are installed.
