PnP/PCI modem installation Plug your modem(ISA PNP modem or PCI modem) into a free slot of your computer and turn the power on, you may receive a message that Windows 2000 has detected your Plug and Play device(s). When the modem has been detected, use the following steps: 1. Press "Next" button when the "Upgrade Device Driver Wizard" window appears. 2. Select "Search for a suitable driver for my device [recommended]" option and then press "Next" button. 3. Insert ASUS Support CD to CD-ROM. 4. Select "Specify a location" option and then press "Next" button. 5. Type or browse the path {CD-ROM Drive}:\Drivers\Modem\MDC\2K_XP. 6. Finally, follow the instruction to complete the installation. Note: If Windows 2000 does not copy files during the installation, please goto "Windows 2000/Inf" directory and delete unused "oem*.inf" and "oem*.pnf" files, then try again. ii. Install PnP/PCI modem Driver manually. 1. Press "Start" button. 2. Move highlight bar to "Settings" and select "Control Panel". 3. Double click on "System" icon. 4. When the menu appears, click the "Properties" item. 6. Please select [General] page to reinstall driver or select [Driver] page to update driver. 7. Insert ASUS Support CD to CD-ROM. 10. Select "Specify a location" option and then press "Next" button. 11. Type or browse the path {CD-ROM Drive}:\Drivers\Modem\MDC\2K_XP. 12. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
