SOFTWARE RELEASE NOTES - V4.08 (PN 6000185) 981209

=============================================================================

New in this release:

1) Utilizes Install Shield. One setup file for Windows 95, Windows 98
   and Windows NT 4.0.

2) Windows NT 4.0 Ethernet support.

3) APM (Advanced Power Management) support.

4) Un-Install utility included.

5) Printing in Windows 98 with cardbus fix.

6) Changed text in setup program screens.

Important issues:

Windows 95/98:

1) Run the setup.exe program from the diskette to install the drivers.
This should be done with the Port Replicator PC card out of the notebook.
When setup is done connect the Port Replicator, plug the PC card in. The
computer will then finish the installation.

2) After the card is plugged in you will see multiple "Found New Hardware"
Screens. You may be prompted for a Windows disk or CD to complete the
   installation.

3) When using Card Bus PCMCIA cards (for example 3COM 10/100 Ethernet),
the Card Bus card must be installed and initialized before plugging
   in the Port Replicator card.

4) Parallel and serial port peripherals that use static device drivers
(drivers that load before Windows) can not be used. The Port Replicator
drivers are dynamic and load when the Port Replicator PC card is
inserted. An example of such a device is the Iomega ZIP drive that is
not plug and play. The port address and interrupts are changed when the
   Port Replicator drivers load.
This does not apply to the To0711 that has pass thru serial and parallel
   ports.

5) The Windows 95 and 98 drivers are plug and play drivers. They do not need
CardWizard or any third party PCMCIA management software. If CardWizard tries
to detect the card and you can not get the card working. Change the settings
for the "Mobility port Replicator" to plug and play mode. This can be done
from the Cardmanager screen. Please follow the instructions for CardWizard.

Windows NT 4.0:

1) Run the setup.exe program from the diskette to install the drivers.
This should be done with the Port Replicator PC card out of the notebook.
When setup is done you will be need to reboot. To use the Port Replicator,
It should be plugged into a PCMCIA socket before the machine is booted.

2) To install the Ethernet driver on Windows NT 4.0 first run the setup.exe
program. After rebooting verify that the keyboard and mouse work. Then
   follow the instructions below.

	1. Go to the network applet from the control panel.
	2. Select the "Adapters" tab.
	3. Click the "Add.." Button.
	4. Click the "Have Disk" button.
	5. Select the drive and path where you have the installation disk.
