Depending on the document, it may not be possible to scan in the images it contains or the process may slow down even if the memory size is increased. If you encounter such a problem, select Setup tab and enable "Use Work File". In addition, enable "Specify Folder" and then specify a folder with sufficient space. * For details on the SCSI board, please refer to the User's Manual for your scanner. Compatible Scanners The following Graphtec scanners are compatible. IS2100 Ver. 1.00 or later IS3100 Ver. 1.00 or later CS1000 Ver. 1.00 or later CS1000EV Ver. 2.00 or later CS1100EV Ver. 1.00 or later CS2000 Ver. 1.00 or later CS300-10 Ver. 1.00 or later CS400-10 Ver. 1.00 or later CS500-11 Ver.1.00 or later CS500-11PRO Ver.1.00 or later CS500-11eN Ver.1.00 or later CS500-11eN-PRO Ver.1.00 or later CS600-11 Ver.1.00 or later CS600-11PRO Ver.1.00 or later CS600-11eN Ver.1.00 or later CS600-11eN-PRO Ver.1.00 or later IS200-11 Ver.1.00 or later IS200-11PRO Ver.1.00 or later IS200-11eN Ver.1.00 or later IS200-11eN-PRO Ver.1.00 or later Installation The installation process is initiated by running the SETUP.EXE file. After installation is started, complete installation by following the instructions appearing on the screen. Uninstallation In the same way as for other applications, select [Add/Remove Programs] from the Control Panel to uninstall the GRAPHTEC TWAIN32 DRIVER. Notes on Use 1) For operating instructions, refer to the Help menu. 2) To scan in image data through the scanner, you must have a SCSI board and ASPI manager for the ASPI that are running. 3) The standard version of Windows 95/98/Me contains an ASPI manager. However, there are a few problems (e.g., the standard ASPI manager cannot identify the SCSI ID automatically). Neither Windows NT 4.0 nor Windows 2000/XP contains an ASPI manager. If you want to use Windows 95/98/Me or Windows NT 4.0 for operation, be sure to install the ASPI Manager provided with the SCSI board. If you want to use Windows 2000/XP for operation, consult with your SCSI board vendor or Adaptec distributor. 4) While using GRAPHTEC TWAIN32 DRIVER to read image data from a scanner, do not concurrently run other software to read image data from the scanner. 5) Please use TWAIN-compatible 32-bit application software with the GRAPHTEC TWAIN32 DRIVER. 16-bit application software is not supported. If you attempt to use 16-bit software, the dialog boxes may not be displayed correctly and image data may not be sent. Furthermore, Windows operation may be adversely affected. 6) Depending on the application, there may be limitations on the size of the image data that can be handled. 7) When using the scanner in an environment where Adaptec's EZ-SCSI software has been installed, problems such as image data not being sent or the Cancel button not working may occur, depending on the application being used. If problems like these occur, there is a possibility that TWAIN files which should only be in the Windows directory have also been installed by EZ-SCSI in the Windows system directory. If any of the following files are in the Windows System directory, back up those files and then remove them from the system directory. For example, if Windows is installed in the C: drive: In the case of Windows 95/98/Me C:\Windows\System\Twain.DLL C:\Windows\System\Twain_32.DLL C:\Windows\System\Twunk_16.EXE C:\Windows\System\Twunk_32.EXE In the case of Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000/XP C:\Windows\System32\Twain.DLL C:\Windows\System32\Twain_32.DLL C:\Windows\System32\Twunk_16.EXE C:\Windows\System32\Twunk_32.EXE 8) If you are using Imaging for Windows 95 (version supplied with OSR2), a narrow margin may appear on the right-hand side of the scanned-in data. 9) If a document which is shorter than the specified length is scanned in, scanning will be performed to the end of the document, but a dialog box with the question [The scanner has reached the end of the paper. Continue generating image data?] If you select [Yes], the scanned image will be the specified size. If you select [No], the image will be shortened to the actual length, but a white margin may be added to the bottom of the image. Furthermore, if a Rotate option was selected, the image data may not be received correctly by the application program. 10) Reload the document after performing a Prescan operation. 11) If there is another window or a task bar on top of the Details window, the image being scanned may be imprecise, or may not be displayed. Make sure that the windows are not overlapped. Compatible application programs OPS111 has been tested and found to be compatible with the following application programs (as of April, 2003) Imaging for Windows (version supplied with Windows 98) Eastman Software Inc. Imaging for Windows (version supplied with Windows Me) Eastman Software Inc. Imaging for Windows (version supplied with Windows 2000) Eastman Software Inc.
