CHANNEL DLC V2.3.0 for

IBM Communications Server for Windows Version 6.1.2

***NOTE: This Channel DLC (CDLC) is compatible with version 6.1.2 of IBM Communications Server.
It is not compatible with version 6.1.1 or earlier versions of IBMCS.


REQUIREMENTS
----------------------
Before installing the Bus-Tech Channel Data Link Control (CDLC) driver you
must first install one of Bus-Tech's Channel Adapters in your server.

The Channel Adapter product will come with Windows Drivers that must
be installed first.  Follow the instructions provided with the Channel Adapter.

REQUIRED VERSIONS
---------------------
The following minimum version of Channel Drivers is required with this version of the CDLC.

*** Channel Drivers for Windows 2000:   Version 6.2.1

Please note that this version of CDLC is not compatible with Windows NT.


The following minimum version of Channel Adapter firmware is required to use the CDLC.
If you have an older version of firmware, please update it before
using this version of the CDLC.

*** PBSA Firmware   V3.600
*** PBSA4 Firmware  V1.600
*** PBCA Firmware   V3.000



INSTALLATION STEPS
---------------------
***Before you begin, make sure you have completely uninstalled any earlier versions
of the CDLC and have rebooted the server.

1. To install the DLC driver run "setup.exe" from the root directory.
Follow the instructions shown and it will step you through the installation.

2. After the installation is complete, you must shutdown and restart Windows
before using the CDLC driver.



UNINSTALLATION STEPS
-------------------------
1.  Open up the Windows Control Panel.

2.  Double click on the Add/Remove Programs Icon.

3.  Select "Channel DLC" from the list of installed programs and click the Add/Remove button.

4.  After uninstall has completed, shutdown and restart Windows.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
