Introduction:
=============
This document presents information to users about National Semiconductor's
DP83820 Gigabit Ethernet adapter and the relevant NDIS4 software driver,
dp83820.sys version 4.0.2.52 for MS Windows NT 4.0 operating system.

Installation Notes For Windows NT 4.0:
======================================
 1.Select the "Network" icon in the Control Panel Group.

 2.Select the "Adapter" and click the "Add" button in the "Network" dialog box.

 3.Click the "Have Disk" button in the "Select Network adapters" dialog box.

 4.Insert the "National Semiconductor Corp. DP83820 10/100/1000 GigMAC 
   PCI Adapter" driver disk into floppy drive/CD-ROM drive. To navigate to the 
   .\WINNT path which is the path where the setup file OEMSETUP.INF is
   located, and then choose the "OK" button.

 5.The screen will appear "Duplex Mode" dialog box which is provide
   by dp83820.sys driver. 
   
 6.NT will then perform the binding process. If any additional network
   software options were installed, you may be prompted for specific
   information for these packages.

 7.Restarting your system you will acquire network service.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
