        This installation assumes that the PC Card drivers are working
        properly. Please consult INST_DOS.TXT for help with PC Card
        Drivers. Getting Started will describe the installation
        instructions.


 Getting Started

  * Notes:                                                         *
  *     The PC Card should be enabled by Card Enabler.             *
  *     Please run ENEP16.EXE before starting LAN driver.          *
  *                                                                *
  *     Two alternatives to enable the Ethernet PCMCIA Adapter:    *
  *                                                                *
  *     1. Issue an executive file:                                *
  *                                                                *
  *        At the DOS prompt, type:                                *
  *                                                                *
  *            ENEP16 [/iop:XXX] [/irq:X]                          *
  *                                                                *
  *        For more details, refer to INST_DOS.txt.                *
  *                                                                *
  *     2. Modify CONFIG.SYS                                       *
  *                                                                *
  *        Add the following instruction to CONFIG.SYS file        *
  *                                                                *
  *        DEVICE=<PATH>\ENEP16.EXE [/iop:XXX] [/irq:X]            *
  *                                                                *
  *        ; <PATH> is the directory containing ENEP16.EXE         *
  *        ; Please refer to the INST_DOS.TXT file for details.    *

    First time installation from the install menu
    ÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ
         Start the NetWare Server.

          > CD \NWSERVER
          > SERVER

         Execute "LOAD NWCONFIG" after booting up. Type:

              LOAD NWCONFIG

         Select "Driver Options", -> "Configure network drivers", and
          -> "Select a driver".

         Press <Insert> key to install an unlisted driver.

         Please insert driver diskette into floppy disk drive.

         Press <F3> to specify a different <PATH>. <PATH> is directory
          which includes both EP16.LAN and EP16.LDI

              Ex. A:\NETWARE\SERVER\NW50

         Select "EP16.LAN ...".

         Select "Save parameters and load driver" after configuring adapter
          setting.

         NetWare server will loading/binding driver automatically.

         Specify "I/O port" and "Interrupt number" while NetWare server is
          loading the driver, and these values should be consistent with the
          values set by ENEP16.EXE.

         After the driver has been loaded, check whether all the frame types
          you want are specified for this driver in AUTOEXEC.NCF.


    The other time installation from the install menu
    ÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ
         Start the NetWare Server.

          > CD \NWSERVER
          > SERVER

         Execute "LOAD NWCONFIG" after booting up. Type:

              LOAD NWCONFIG

         Select "Driver Options", -> "Configure network drivers", and
          -> "Select a driver".

         Select "EP16.LAN ..." in Select a driver window.

         Select "Save parameters and load driver" after configuring adapter
          setting.

         NetWare server will loading/binding driver automatically.

         Specify "I/O port" and "Interrupt number" while NetWare server is
          loading the driver, and these values should be consistent with the
          values set by ENEP16.EXE.

         After the driver has been loaded, check whether all the frame types

    Modifying an existing NetWare 5.0 Server
    ÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ
         Please insert driver diskette into floppy disk drive.

         Copy all provided LAN files into your dos directory
          which includes SERVER.EXE.

          Ex. >COPY A:\NETWARE\SERVER\NW50\EP16.LAN C:\NWSERVER
              >COPY A:\NETWARE\SERVER\NW50\EP16.LDI C:\NWSERVER


         Start the NetWare Server.

          > CD \NWSERVER
          > SERVER

         From the Novell Server side, execute "LOAD NWCONFIG". Type:
          
              LOAD NWCONFIG

          Select <NCF files Options>
          Select <Edit AUTOEXEC.NCF file>

         Add the following commands into the server's AUTOEXEC.NCF file.

          Search Add C:\NWSERVER

          LOAD EP16 PORT=300 INT=3 FRAME=Ethernet_802.3 NAME=EP16_1_E83
          BIND IPX EP16_1_E83 NET=1111

          LOAD EP16 PORT=300 INT=3 FRAME=Ethernet_802.2 NAME=EP16_1_E82
          BIND IPX EP16_1_E82 NET=1113

          LOAD EP16 PORT=300 INT=3 FRAME=Ethernet_II NAME=EP16_1_EII
          BIND IPX EP16_1_EII NET=1115

          LOAD EP16 PORT=300 INT=3 FRAME=Ethernet_SNAP NAME=EP16_1_ESP
          BIND IPX EP16_1_ESP NET=1117

          Note: the PORT and INT parameters should be set as the values
                which are set by ENEP16.EXE.

         Restart the server again.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
