Functionality
-------------

Easy solution to deploy keyboard configurations to other systems or transfer
the configuration of your Cherry keyboard to an other computer.

There is no need to install the whole full version of Cherry Tools on each system.
It can be easier done using the Runtime Setup.

The Runtime Setup
- installs drivers necessary for operation of the keyboard
- activates the magnetic card reader of MultiBoard USB keyboards
- installs configuration files created with Cherry Tools

The Runtime Setup is not an application in the common sense.
It does not provide a Graphical User Interface (GUI).

If you intend to change the keyboard configuration, please install the full version
of Cherry Tools.

Definitions
-------------

Physical programming method / Keyboard Macro:
Configuration is saved in the keyboard.

Virtual programming method / Software Macro:
Configuration is saved as a file in the file system.

Depending on keyboard interface and programming the following types of configuration
files exist:

Keyboard interface	Programming File(s)
....................................................................................

PS/2 physical / Keyboard Macro *.ccf
PS/2 virtual	/ Software Macro *.csf

USB physical programming not possible
USB virtual	/ Software Macro *.csf and *.cmf

....................................................................................

*.ccf file: Configuration using physical programming method
*.csf file: Configuration of the keyboard using virtual programming method
*.cmf file: Configuration of the magnetic card reader using virtual programming method

Installation
-------------
1) Cherry Tools V4.1 Runtime can be found on this CDROM in the path
   ..\software\CherryTools\RuntimeEdition\

As you can not write to the CDROM, please copy the whole contents of the path
(including all sub directories), to your hard-disk or any other storage device
(e.g. network drive, USB memory stick).

It is not recommended to run the 'Runtime Setup' directly from this CDROM, as
you have to add your individual configuration files first. Else only
the standard configuration will be installed.

2) Add yor individual 'Cherry Tools' configuration files (*.csf, *.cmf) to the
'config' folder copied on the hard-disk or storage device.

To do so, please start the application 'Cherry Tools - Designer' (Start ->
Progams -> Cherry Tools -> Designer) and select 'Safe as...' in the menu 'File'.

3) Now start the setup from hard-disk or other storage device by running 'SETUP.EXE'.
The setup will find and automatically install the configuration files located in
   the subdirectory 'config'.
