_____________________________________________________________________ NCR DOS SetCMOS Utility _____________________________________________________________________ The SetCMOS utility provides a means to modify the PC BIOS setup parameters. This utility has two major functions. The Copy function will copy the contents of CMOS to a file and the Load function will populate CMOS with the contents of a previously saved file. The default operation of the Load function will be to verify the sumcheck before proceeding. Options will be provided to disable the sumcheck to allow use of an older version saved image, verify BIOS Core revisions, reboot after load, and display file user description, Time/Date, Terminal Class/Model, and Bios Revision. A Silent mode option will be available to disable error display messages. In silent mode errors will be logged only. The log file is <filename>.log. ====================================================================== The available command line options for SetCMOS are as follows: SetCMOS[-/][command] /C:<filename> Copy CMOS <filename> is the name of the file to be created containing the PC BIOS settings. /L:<filename> Load CMOS <filename> is the name of the file containing the PC BIOS settings (created using the /C: option). /O Don't Verify image Don't verify saved image sumcheck is correct on Load. To be used with Old saved images which don't have a sumcheck. /B Verify BIOS Verify BIOS core revisions match on Load. /D:<filename> Display Display info about the saved image - Ignored if present /L: option is used. /I:<usr info> User Info Up to 80 characters of user input CMOS identification. /R Reboot Reboot terminal after Load. /S Silent Mode Silent Mode operation. No error or confirmation messages will be displayed. Errors will be logged. /? Information Displays the Command Line parameters supported. If this option is on the command line, all other options will be ignored. ======================================================================= This utility has the following constraints: · Changing the PRIMARY MASTER IDE Drive from NONE to AUTO, in most cases, will cause the terminal to hang. · Setting the CMOS parameters to the required values before flashing the BIOS may cause boot order to be lost. · Cannot be used to set the CMOS parameters before flashing to a new core BIOS. The terminal may hang when the flash program begins. The verify Bios Core Revision option should be used to avoid the problem. · Cannot be used to disable booting from LAN in the following menu: SETUP-->BOOT-->!LAN (LAN should be disabled in the Multiple ROM menu) · It is important that each new CMOS image file be verified against the target BIOS version to insure compatibility. ======================================================================= ========================= END OF README FILE ========================== =======================================================================Download Driver Pack
