EtherDisk Diskette for the EtherLink II Adapters
                         Physical Transmission Options

The EtherLink II TP adapter has six options that control data transmission
on the physical medium. These options are set by moving jumpers on the
  adapter.

This file contains information that will help you set these options so that
the EtherLink II TP adapter will work correctly with both 10BASE-T and
non-10BASE-T hubs. For more detailed information, refer to the
  EtherLink II TP Adapter Guide.

NOTE: This file applies only to the EtherLink II TP adapter. For
information on the EtherLink II/16 TP Adapter, please refer
to the EtherLink II/16 TP Adapter Guide.

  Wire Impedance
  --------------

Set the WIRE IMPEDANCE jumpers to match the characteristic impedance of your
  cable.

Use a standard test device to verify the characteristic impedance of your
cable from the wiring closet to the station. Use the 100-ohms setting if
you are connecting to standard 10BASE-T wiring.

  The available settings are:

     Setting Impedance Range
     ------- ---------------
     75 70-85 ohms
     100 85-115 ohms
     150 115-160 ohms

  Other Options
  -------------

The other jumpers should be set according to the following table:

                                             HP StarLAN 10,
                            SynOptics AT&T STARLAN 10,
10BASE-T LattisNet DAVID Systems BULL Hub 10
