Tecmar Technologies This file is necessary to change the configuration of WangDat 3130 / 3230 back to the standard configured WangDat 3100 / 3200. During our manufacturing process there was an incorrect bit set in the firmware inquiry string which makes the 3130 /3230 report as a 3130 or 3230. In order to keep compatability with the current Operating Systems and third party backup software the inquiry string must report as a WangDat 3100 /3200. The FIXIT.EXE file has the ability to correct this problem and allow the drive to be recognised correctly. Please see below for operating instructions. Operating instructions First you must have the tape drive attached to the SCSI Bus. It must be at the present time be reporting as a Wangdat 3130 or 3230. If it is reporting as a 3100 or 3200 there is no need to use this to re-configure the drive. If the drive is not recognised by the SCSI Bus you will probably have the drive setup incorrectly and will need to check your SCSI ID and SCSI termination. Once the tape drive is attached and is recognised as a WangDAT 3130 /3230 you must have an ASPI driver for the DOS environment loaded in your Config.sys file. You may need to contact your Host Adapter manufacturer for that file. This example below shows the addition to the config.sys file if you were using an Adaptec 1540 controller Device=c:\wangdat\aspi4dos.sys /d In the above example the aspi4dos.sys file was placed in the wangdat directory. You must now copy the FIXIT4.EXE file to your local hard disk or Floppy disk and then type the following as shown below; C:>fixit4 This program will then run and search the SCSI Bus for the Wangdat 3130 / 3230. It will prompt you to select 1 for 3130 or 2 for 3230 and will then reconfigure it to a WangDat 3100 / 3200. You must reboot your system before using the tape drive.Download Driver Pack
