File-By-File Selective Backup: Choose this option if you want to make a copy of just a part of your disk. You can make a copy of just one file from any directory or subdirectory on your disk. You can also make a copy of all of the files of a directory. If you wish, you may also include all of the files of the subdirectories that are in the directory you want to copy. When you press the F2 function key, you will be asked for the drive letter that contains the information you wish to back up. Each of your disk drives (floppy or hard disk drives) has been assigned a logical drive letter, such as A, B, C, etc. Type the letter of the device that contains the information you want to back up and press the return key. Note the line at the bottom of the screen. This line is referring to the function keys to the left of your keyboard, labeled F1 through F10. It shows what each key will do when you press it. Valid keys are F1: UP, F2: DOWN, F3: SUBDIR, F4: PARENT DIR, F5: BACKUP, and F10: MENU. When you press either the F1 or F2 function keys, the list on your screen will scroll up (F1) or down (F2), and a different directory or file will be displayed in the selection window (the reverse-video window in the middle of your screen). You can tell the difference between a directory and a file by looking under the SIZE column. A directory will have <DIR> and a file will have a number in this column. When you have a directory positioned in the selection window (indicated by the <DIR> under the SIZE column) you can press the F3 function key to look at all the files and sub- directories under that directory. The name of the directory will be shown in the upper left hand corner of your screen as the PATH. If you choose to look at the files in a sub- directory in this list, the name of the subdirectory will be added to the PATH that you are following, separated by a backslash (\). If the files displayed when you pressed the F3 function key are not the ones you want to back up, just press the F4 function key and the previous list of files or directories will be redisplayed. To begin the backup procedure, press the F5 function key. If you are backing up a file, you will be asked to verify that the file positioned in the selection window is the file that you want to back up. Answer Y or N to the question at the bottom of your screen. If you answer Y for yes, your screen will clear except for the words ENTER BACKUP IDENTIFICATION LABEL in the center of your screen. You can type up to 44 letters as a comment or title for the file(s) you are about to backup. The comment will show up on the screen that displays the backups you have made to your tape. After you have typed your comment, just press the return key and the backup will begin. If you are backing up a directory, you are first asked to verify that the directory positioned in the selection window contains the files that you want to back up. You will also be asked if you want to include all the subdirectories in that directory. Answer Y if you want to include all the files in those sub- directories or N if you do not. You will also have a chance to enter a comment after you have answered these questions, as described in the paragraph above. After the backup is finished, you will see that you can press the F1 function key to return to the list of files or directories that was on your screen before you made your backup. Also note that you may press the F10 function key to return to the Backup Menu at any time except while the backup is being made. You can randomly access any file or directory name in the scrolling file list and position that name in the selection window. Type the letter D for directory or F for file when the question at the bottom of your screen asks if you want to SEARCH FOR FILE OR DIRECTORY (F OR D)?; then press the return key. Next type the directory or file name you want to position in the selection window and press the return key again. The directory or file name that you typed will then be shown in the selection window. If you mistyped the name, the name of the file or directory that most closely matches the name you typed will be shown in the selection window. In addition to using the F1: UP and F2: DOWN function keys that make your list scroll up or down, you can use the keys on the right of your keyboard marked with the up arrow (also marked with the number 8) or down arrow (also marked with the number 2). If you want to jump directly to the beginning of the list on your screen, press the key marked Home (also marked with the number 7). If you want to jump directly to the bottom of the list on your screen, press the key marked End (also marked with the number 1). [End of Text]Download Driver Pack
