Installation instructions for MultiVOIP 200 software vs 2.01H. 1. Run "MultiVOIP configuration" from your old version of MultiVOIP software and take note of the current settings. Your MultiVOIP will be reset to factory defaults during this upgrade. Voice channel, IP setup and Phone book will have to be reconfigured. Note about Phone Book entries. If you are upgrading from an earlier version of proprietary 2.0x firmware your phone book entries will be retained. If you are going from H.323 2.5x firmware to proprietary, you will have to re-enter the phone book entries. 2. Uninstall your old version of MultiVOIP 200 software by selecting the "Uninstall MultiVOIP Configuration" option from the program group. 3. Run mvp201H.exe in a temporary directory. 4. From the temporary directory, in disk1 run "setup.exe" to install the new software. At the end of the software install, select "No or Cancel" to download factory defaults. Do not download factory defaults. 5. From the program group of the "MultiVOIP 200 v2.01H" software, run "Upgrade Software" to update the code running on the MultiVOIP hardware. This process will load boot code, factory defaults, firmware, and voice coders. 6. Run "MultiVOIP Configuration" and reconfigure your phone book. The upgrade sets the phone book to Host. You may need to change this to client and add the Host IP Address depending on the original configuration. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Upgrade and Downgrade procedure. 1. Manual upgrade via serial port is possible if you follow the following sequence : Oem, Coders, H323 Stack, Factory defaults and Firmware. The basic requirement is that the firmware should get downloaded as the final step. This is because the memory maps between the proprietary version and h323 versions are different. By downloading the Oem, Coders, H323 Stack and Factory defaults before the firmware, you will make sure that all the data accessed by the firmware is already present in the flash. If you download the firmware before the other files, the firmware will reboot or give a bus error since valid data is not yet present in the flash. 2. Downgrading from 2.52 -> 2.01H will work if you follow the following sequence: Coders, Factory Defaults and Firmware. 3. Manual upgrade/downgrade via IP is not possible. This is true with the earlier versions as well. (eg 2.51a <-> 2.01G etc.) 4. It is recomended that the boot be also upgraded when you switch from the proprietary version to H323 version and vice versa. The H323 boot does some optimizations for the coder downloads. You will find that the voice coder download will take a longer time to download via serial port if the boot (h323 or proprietary) does not match with the downloading version.
