1. INTRODUCTION
===============

This release supports async port support for use with faxing. It contains
additional fax modifications.

Support has been added for setting Comm Timeouts to Zero.

2. CARD INSTALLATION
====================
Install the Card in an Open PCI Slot.

Open the Control Pannel.
-- Select the Network Applet
-- Select the Adapters tab
-- Click the Add Button
-- Click Have disk
-- Enter the path of the Install Disk
-- Click OK

Note: The Only choice in the Select OEM option dialog should be Multi-Tech Systems 
WAN Adapter

-- Click OK

The PRI Setup Dialog should appear. (ISIHP24/30 PRI Setup) 
-- Select the "PRI Setup" tab to set Framing Format, Line Coding, Switch Type and 
Tx Level. Tx Level is usually set to the default value.
-- Select the "Directory Number" tab to set the directory numbers associated with 
the PRI channels. 
-- Click OK to save the parameters.

You will Three possible messages:

Setup Complete: "Multi-Tech Systems WAN setup is complete. "+
			"If ISDN ports are to be used, Remote Access Services (RAS) must be installed. "+
			"Please configure the MTSWAN ISDN ports in RAS "+
			"setup to enable you to use RAS over the MTSWAN."+
			"Use of Asynchronous ports, does not require RAS."

Update Complete: "Multi-Tech Systems WAN setup is complete. "+
			"If ISDN ports are to be used, Remote Access Services (RAS) must be invoked. "+
			"Please configure the MTSWAN ISDN ports in RAS "+
			"setup to enable you to use RAS over the MTSWAN."
			"Use of Asynchronous ports, does not require RAS."

Error Failure: "Multi-Tech Systems WAN setup encountered an error "+
			  "while invoking the RAS setup INF file (OEMNSVRA.INF). "+
			  "Please make sure that the file is present in the "+
			  "System32 directory and is the proper file." 

The card and drivers have been installed and Configured. To complete the 
installation the newly installed ports should be adding to RAS Services.

Select the Services tab on the Network applet.
If Ras is installed Remote Access Service will appear in the dialog.

If RAS is not installed Click the add button to Install RAS Services.
Select Remote Access Service and Click OK
Next you need to give RAS access to the MTSWAN ISDN ports.

If RAS (Remote Access Service) is installed, select it and click the 
Properties button.

Adding MTSWAN ISDN ports.
-- From the Remote Access Setup dialog click the add button
-- Select a MTSWAN ISDN port from the pulldown list of RAS capable devices.
-- Click OK.
-- Click the Configure button to set call direction for the port.
-- Click the Network button to set up the network configuration for the port.
-- You may repeat the Add button, OR click the clone button for each of the 
remaining available ports.
 
3. CONTROL PANEL APPLET

Open the Control Panel
-- Select the Multi-Tech ISIHP24-30 Applet
-- The window displays the current status of the PRI line, PRI channels and 
modems.
-- Use the CONFIGURATION button to change the line settings, directory numbers,
or update modem/driver code.

4. UNINSTALL
============
Open the Control Pannel
-- Select the Network Applet
-- Select the Adapters tab
-- Select the Multi-Tech Systems WAN Adapter
-- Click the Remove Button

The Card will be removed from the Registry.

Note: These files must be explicitly deleted.

WindowsNT \system32\mtswanap.cpl
WindowsNT \system32\hpsetup.dll

Also, Ports must be explicitly removed from the RAS Services.

Open the Control Pannel
-- Select the Network Applet
-- Select the Services tab
-- Select Remote Access Service 
-- Click the Properties button
-- Select the ports(s) to delete
-- Click the Remove button.

5. KNOWN PROBLEMS
=================
1. When configuring the PRI card settings, it will be necessary to 
reboot the machine for the settings to take effect.

2. You can not manually stop the MTSWAN driver. You must be reboot to 
unload or stop the driver.

3. Using a TAPI dialer does not work.

4. Data mode connections using the async ports is not yet supported.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
