2-2. Installation of the Printer Driver onto a Windows NT4.0 Server
Use the install.exe procedure to install the printer driver onto a
Windows NT4.0 Server.
Alternate drivers (Windows 95/98) cannot be installed onto a server
machine using Add Printer.
2-3. Installing the driver through the floppy disk drive
First, copy the driver files from your PC onto four floppy disks.
*Be sure to copy all files, including any that may be hidden.
Use the following instructions to install the driver from a floppy disk.
(The procedure is the same for Windows95/98 and NT4.0.)
1) Create a Temp folder on the hard disk of the computer that you
intend to install the driver on.
2) Copy all of the driver files from the floppy disks into the Temp
folder.

The driver can also be installed using Plug and Play through the
zeno.inf file from these printer driver files. However, if the
installation is performed using Plug and Play, the Status Display
for Windows, the Control Panel for Windows and the Uninstaller will
not be installed.
(The Status Display is an optional utility that can be installed to
help you monitor the operating status of the printer.
The Status Display is only supported when the printer is connected
to the host computer via a Local connection.)

3. Release Notes
3-1. Upgrading to a newer driver version
When a newer version of the driver is installed, Mailbox Settings and
Multicast Settings are initialized. Set them again if necessary.
**********************************************************************
3-2. Using the Features of the Driver
* Making copies of single-page documents (Paper Tab)
To maximize printing speed when making copies of 1-page documents, we
recommend setting the Collate feature to Off.
* Scaling, Fit to Paper, N-up (Paper Tab / Page Layout Tab)
When these features are used in the Standard Mode, the pitch of text
(especially smaller point sizes) may not appear consistent.
We recommend printing in the All Raster Mode when these features are used.
* Booklet (Page Layout Tab)
Booklet's Left Open / Right Open can be used only with Enhanced Mode.
* Emulation Mode (Quality Tab)
Depending upon the application, you may notice that more time is required
to printout documents when Enhanced is selected compared to Standard.
The Standard setting is recommended if printing speed is being diminished
due to the application that is being used.
Please see section "3-3 Using the Driver with Various Applications" for
details.
* All Raster and Graphics Mode (Quality Tab)
Through the Use Vector setting in the Graphics Mode, you may be able to
shorten the printing time of a document containing graphics.
However, if the printed document appears different from what you see on
the screen or if the printing time is not improved, try selecting Use
Raster or All Raster instead.
* Device Option (Device Option Tab)
If previously entered Device Option settings are not saved in the printer
driver, enter these settings again through the appropriate printer-driver
dialog. Device Option settings that are made through the printer-
properties dialog of an application cannot be saved as defaults.
If you are using Windows 95/98, you can change default settings for
device options through the PageWorks/Pro 25 Properties dialog which can
be found in the Printers folder. If you are using Windows NT4.0, you can
change default settings for device options through the PageWorks/Pro 25
Document Defaults dialog which can be found in the Printers folder.
Input trays and output bins may become unavailable if the Optional Units
settings of the printer driver's Device Option tab do not accurately
reflect the installed options of the printer. Make sure that the
configuration of the printer matches the Optional Units settings of the
Device Option tab.
The printer's configuration can be set automatically in a local printing
by clicking the Get Configuration button when a bidirectional interface
is used.
* Watermark
When using the driver on Czech OS, select an available font on Czech OS.
**********************************************************************
* Font Download
- Downloading into RAM: It is recommended that the CONTEXT SAVE setting
in the SYSTEM MENU of Control Panel be set as RAM if the ContextSave
Setting is ON, that is, if you want to keep the current fonts even
after changing languages.
Depending on the environment, printing performance may be severly
affected when fonts are downloaded into the HDD.
- Downloading into HDD: ContextSave setting does not need to be changed
from Off.
If ContextSave is ON (RAM or HDD), the printing performance may be
affected.
- When multiple PageWorks/Pro25 drivers are installed and when those of
PageWorks/Pro18 and 18N are installed, use the Font Download functions
with only one of them avoiding to conflict.
It is possible to install fonts into PageWorks/Pro18 and 18N printers
with PageWorks/Pro25's Font Download function.
* Get Configuration (Device Option Tab)
Use this feature only after first making sure that the power to the
printer is turned on and that all cable connections are secure.
It can take several minutes to receive a response using this feature
if the power to the printer is set to off or the cable connections are
not secure before pushing the Get Configuration button.
Be sure to use an IEEE1284 Type B compatible cable to connect the
printer to your personal computer. This feature is only supported on
a personal computer with a bi-directional port.
* Mailbox Setting (Device Option Tab)
You can set the Mailbox Setting feature if the 5-bin Mail-bin or the
10-bin Mail-bin was entered as an option in the "Set Additional Option"
dialog of the installation procedure.
If one of these bins was entered in the "Set Additional Option" window
and you have not yet entered any mail-bin settings, the Mailbox Setting
window will appear every time you open the Printer Properties screen
from your application. Be sure to specify Mail-bin settings through the
appropriate printer-driver dialog.
If the Mailbox Setting for both the Operation Panel and the Device
Option tab of the driver do not match, certain output resources that
have been installed as options onto the printer may not be available.
* Multicast: Printing to Multiple Mail-bins
If an optional hard disk drive is installed into the printer, make sure
that the Collate setting in the Paper Tab is set to off when using the
Multicast feature or the Mailbox List to output documents to multiple
mail-bins. Multiple mail-bins will not be accessible if the Collate
setting is set to on.
**********************************************************************
3-3. Using the Driver with Various Applications
* Acrobat
The print time and the alignment of text may be affected when the
features of the printer driver are used with Acrobat.
We recommend setting the Emulation Mode to Standard and All Raster to On
when using Acrobat.
Additionally, the Graphics Quality setting should be set to Medium (300dpi).
For details on using Acrobat, please refer to the Acrobat Readme file.
* Corel Draw
Using Corel Draw demands more printer memory when Enhanced is selected
in the Emulation Mode. We recommend the installation of additional
memory or switching the Emulation Mode to Standard Mode when using the
printer driver with this application.
A "Super Meta File (SMF) Error" message will appear if an overly complex
document is sent to the printer or if the capacity of your personal
computer's hard disk drive is exceeded. Should this message appear, we
recommend changing the data format through the spool settings from SMF
to RAW.
* Lotus Approach
Some documents that are generated from this application tend to take
longer to print when the Emulation Mode is set to Enhanced. We recommend
that you set the Emulation Mode to Standard if document printing time
increases when using this application.
**********************************************************************
3-4. ECP Mode
Print jobs may freeze when being sent to your printer via a parallel
interface (e.g. LPT1) if the port is set to the ECP Mode when using
Windows 95/98.
There are two possible methods for bypassing this problem. One way is
to change the ECP Mode through the CMOS settings. The other way is to
change the LPT1 port driver from "ECP printer port" to "printer port"
through the Device Manager. Please refer to the documentation that comes
with Windows 95/98 for details.
