Premeire/PCI II (Plato) Release 3 AX1Z to Release 6.0 AX1 BIOS Upgrade Diskette
=================================================================================

This diskette upgrades Plato systems from Bios release 3 AX1Z to Release 6 AX1.

Release 6 AX1Z provides support for the following features:
        - PCICL543x Family Support
        - PCISCSINR Support
        - ISA Plug and Play Devices Support
        - support for LBA and CHS IDE disk driver translations

How to Use
==========
Place the diskette into the system A: floppy diskette driver and reboot the system.
The new BIOS will automatically install itself without prompting and reboot the 
system.  After the reboot the system video should work properly the the BIOS 
version 1.00.06.AX1 should appear.
                                  

Key Information Regarding Upgrade
==================================
If the user have a 500+MB disk drive in the system when using this upgrade already 
formatted they may/will have to enter SETUP andhange the default IDE translation 
from LBA to STD CHS.  Failure to make this change can cause the system to hang on 
boot or provide a <NO OPERATING SYSTEM FOUND> error message.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
